JB Bound

I could only escape from work after 5, racing home to be able to leave by 6. Everyone was already set to leave, the luggage already in the trunk of the MPV. All I had to do was change, get all my personal things into the car, and JB here we come!

Traffic was light all the way and we stopped at Ayer Keroh for Maghrib and a quick bite. We finally checked in into our hotel room, Thistle at 10.30. And the room was great. It was actually an apartment unit, and excited the boy actually helped us unpack while waiting for room service.

The journey was smoother than we expected although we had the usual commotion in the car. That was predictable with the two boys. Excited with the spanking shiny hotel when we arrived, they became hyper again. And this continued until well past midnight.

As usual, Daddy had to sleep at the living room. Luckily, the sofa was generously big and we didn't have to ask for an extra bed. The sofa, plus an extra blanket did me nicely. And the boys were still jumping around when I dozed off. Boundless energy these kids!

Chawan Time

I think I would turn this into a ritual. From now on, upon returning home from trips abroad, I would have a meal at Chawan. It felt good when I did it earlier for dinner. It was helped with then fact that the admission were nice and slow. I was starving when I reached there after my first series of admission.

I ordered the usual - daging salai masak lemak. It went down very well indeed. I guessed the bland seafood of Atlanta finally took its toll. I really could do with Anita's cooking and now, some local favourite. And proper coffee as well! Not the usual Starbucks fare. We were talking Kopi Kampung type here.

That was it. It was now officially a ritual!

Back into the Groove

More like struggling to get back into the groove. Starting the morning was hard when I had to snooze the alarm a couple of times and could only drag my bum off the bed at around 8 and drove to work after the rush hour subsided.

Started the clinic late but the patients were still waiting for their results then. I didn't have any inpatients to see. The admissions came later in the day. And that was sorted out as well after the clinic was done.

Next came the on call emergency admissions. I managed to sort those in time to catch some dinner in Bangsar before settling for the shower and returning to the hospital for the evening rounds. That was nice. So, now I was waiting at the Doctor's lounge before returning for the night. I really could do with some sleep. But the main thing was I was able to get through with the day's chore in one piece.

Taxi Ride Home

My two checked-in items came out unscathed, and rather than take the KLIA Express, I went with a cab instead. Since I arrived late, traffic should be much of a factor anymore. Besides, I was too tired to lug around the two bags. I only wishes that this taxi has a better air-conditioning. I was sweating like a dog!

But the taxi driver was cool enough to offer me a drink. And he listened to Wings on the radio. One doesn't get any cooler than that!

Landing Soon

Since we were delayed taking off, we landed in KLIA two and a half hour late. The flight itself was smooth, and I was able to get a good sleep. We were descending over Ipoh when I was drafting this, having had breakfast and watch a couple of movies.

It looked like a trip on the train, and then taxi from KL Sentral as usual. I should be settled at home by 11. A quick shower and then lunch with my Mum I guessed. I'll be on call Friday, so I better get plenty of rest. My boys would definitely have other ideas I was sure.

Let's just hope that my luggage arrived in KL together on this flight. It would be a pain otherwise.
