Not The Haze Again

The forecast looked ate grim as more haze would lend in Semenanjung from the neighbouring Sumatera by the end of the week. I knew the boys would be suffering, and even Anita had been having the sniffles and had gone back to her inhalers. The last time we had a bad bout of haze in KL, she had to go on steroids due to bronchospasm. Hopefully it wouldn't be that bad this time around.

That would really put a dampener on the coming festivities, as I was expecting KL would be empty again with the city dwellers leaving for their respective kampungs. We would be celebrating in KL this time around, with my parents staying around, and Julia only going back to Melaka on the second day of Raya. We would sure be hanging around at their place for the day.

It's Friday

First thing I did when I woke up this morning was to check the weather. Hmmm! Gloomy from the looks of things. Not really sure weather if it was an overcast day or the haze was back. None the less, it was a weather not conducive to getting out of bed and heading for work. But somebody had to do so.

Bad Air Day

The sun was definitely brighter this morning compared to yesterday. It was in fact, awfully smoggy yesterday. From our apartment, the visibility was only about 100m by Maghrib. It was that bad.

We went out to the Pasar Ramadhan yesterday, near Bangsar Village area and with the smoke there, the air quality was really bad. In fact, when we opened the window last evening, we could smell the burnt stench in the air. Luckily, the boys were not effected. They were happily playing all evening.

This brought back memory of three years back when the air quart around Lembah Kelang was abysmal. Visibility was down to 50 m and you can see the sedimentation in the air even inside the house. It had not gotten as bad as that since, but I was worried that it would.

Since I was on call today, and the boys were both on school holidays, we stayed at the apartment in Bangsar. We planned to stay there at least until the weekend. My poor mother-in-law had to cope on her own with her new maid. Maybe, we would return by Friday, if the boys let us …..

No Pasar Ramadan

The plan was to visit the Pasar Ramadan in Melawati as I usually did every year. But since my Mum-in-law wanted to come along, we decided to stop at Taman Melati to let her do her shopping before dropping her back home. We would then do our shipping.

But, as soon as we reached Taman Melati, it poured down royally. The plan to Melawati had to be scraped. We went to Jaya Jusco instead for a quick groceries. By the time the rain subsided, we had I leave for my Mum's at Bukit Antarabangsa for berbuka. So, the Pasar Ramadan had to wait until tomorrow.

Short-lived Outing

After leaving the short movie early to get the boys to the park, I was disappointed that it started to rain. Well, didn't really mind the rain, but it was the thunder that we were scared off. So, after only five minutes running around the park, we had to leave. Not even time for a quick ice cream. Sigh!

Lake Perdana Park was full, so we turned to the Tugu area instead. It was practically empty, but with no playground. We should've gone there with a ball or a bat instead. So, that would be the plan for next time.
