Engagement

One of my cousin got engaged last Sunday and I was asked to tag along during the trip to visit the girls’ house in Cheras. I started my rounds early that morning so that I could make it in time as the event started at 10.30 in the morning. I drove to Ampang first to pick up my parents before turning around to join the rest of my relatives.

It was then followed by an early lunch and by noon, I was already at my Mum’s place at Bukit Antarabangsa ready to get on with the rest of the Sunday. I had an Uncle coming from Muar as well as Penang. And with he ceremony finishing early, they were able to take a relaxing drive home.

The wedding would be in April, in Kuala Terengganu and Anita was keen to go. It would be likely that we would be taking the van there along with my parents. We would then spent a couple of nights there since the boys would still be on their Easter break. Earlier today, I managed to sort out my leaves as well. Looked like at system go at this point ....

CNY Day at Mid Valley

I had to stay in town for Chinese New Year as usual. Generally speaking it was the best time of the year to stay in KL with the light traffic and generally good hot weather.

Some of the shops were closed for the daySince for this year, the CNY happened during weekend, not many people left town. KL ended up to be more congested than usual, and the shopping malls were crowded. For the day, after my morning rounds, Anita and I went to Mid Valley - which happened to be about 5 minutes from our apartment.

Some great singing ...

Although the place was crowded, it felt festive. The main foyer was filler with decorations and traditional singing. We had a nice lunch at one of the French Cafe there before departing in the late afternoon. A lot of the visitors were in their cheongsam, maybe after visiting their friends or going to the temple. Surprisingly, the majority of the visitors there were Chinese ...

Happy Sunday Morning

That rare Sunday morning when I was forced not to do the ward round, I was treated to a glorious sunrise.

In fact I just sat there staring away for a good 10 minutes listening to the sound of nature. Cool breeze from my room balcony, I thought I should do it more often. Maybe I should delay starting my Sunday rounds early. Enjoy the morning a bit ....

Now, should I go to the gym or look for breakfast .....

The Break of Dawn

As I was rushing to get ready for my long Saturday morning clinic, I realised how majestic it looked outside my bedroom window - minus the curtains as there were renovations going on.

I had always intended to have my bedroom facing East as it allowed me to enjoy the morning sun - I had always been a morning person! I guessed I chose right.

So, once the renovation was done, I will make sure that I would enjoy at least a 5 minute stop at my bedroom balcony before going to work. It would be worth it ....

Meeting the Gang

Group photowalks usually served a couple of purposes. The first was very obvious. To relief the craving most keen photographers had, to shoot. Certain quarters of town were also rather unsafe to be ventured alone. A small group would be better and what was better was if some members of the groups were familiar with the surroundings. We could then concentrate on what to shoot and felt safe in a group.

Cousin Adi and MuraliThe second was to meet up with all friends. And the recent Scott Kelby photowalk certainly offered that as some of the group members only met each other once a year. And when we meet, we eat. More on that later ....

The combination of the two was the reason why every year I made plans - including cancelling clinics - to join up.

This year, the event happened last weekend. About 50 photographers turned up in our group - there was another group meeting at the other side of town. We met at Chow Kit, and we plotted a route from there, through he famous market to end at Masjid India.

Somebody decided to take the bikeMore makanAnd talking about cameras of course ...Being a post-call day, I did not plan to be adventurous. I started my rounds early, parked my car at Nu Sentral and took the Monorel to join up with the group in Chow Kit at a mamak shop for breakfast.

Ripi giving a briefing at the start of the walk .... in 360 degrees ...

A group photo and briefing ensued before the main group left for the market. I stayed back with a couple of friends to have some food before walking into the market.
