Not Much of a Delight

Last Thursday, Anita followed her Dad who came to my clinic for a quick work-up after he had not been feeling well back in Kelantan. We did some blood tests and scans, and by the time we reached lunch and everything was done, I was peckish. Anita had been keen to go to Kelantan Delight for ages now. So, we had our chance today. It was in Subang Jaya after all, right next to Empire Gallery, but parking was tricky since the MRT work was going on right in front.

The place was actually pretty empty for lunch. Only five tables were occupied, but I soon found the reason why. The service was atrocious!

The food was actually rather good. Unfortunately they claimed to be suffering from a serious case of staff shortage. There was only a couple of waiters on duty, and they had to help the cook as well.

This was a shame since the place was usually quite good, with decent food and reasonable service.

Not rushing there any time soon ….

Roadwork at Bukit Bintang

Clearly Bukit Bintang would never be the same anymore. Especially looking at the amount of digging they were doing around the iconic intersection between Jalan Bukit Bintang and Sultan Ismail. And it had been going on for the last couple of years, with an almost constant changing of the road layout around that particular area.

This development also had contributed to the closure of another famous landmark, the Bukit Bintang Plaza.

So, on my way to Low Yat Plaza last weekend, I went past the famous intersection again. There were still a big crowd mingling about, but the layout had changed again. The pedestrian walkway was still preserved but getting across the road could be a bit tricky.

I saw a few Mat Salleh stopping at the junction trying to get around the place. I was sure they stayed at a hotel nearby and wanted to explore the area. Not a good time for that mate!

Some heavy gear there ...I sure hope that all these distractions would pay dividend at the end of the day. There had been a lot of investment here and I hope that it would all be worth it .....

And the Dip

Can't resist the warm weather and cool breeze. We found ourselves by the pool before sunset, with the boys refusing to get off the pool until after sundown.

I decided against getting myself wet, just enjoying the wifi by the pool. The weather held up, and it didn't rain. Unfortunately, Sri Utama would still be openned next week, since they do not follow the standard term time. At least they get a month off in June and July.

That also meant that the boys had to do their homework later that night .... Good luck!

Sunday Afternoon

I had to do some babysitting this weekend. And since Anita was worried that I might be called to the hospital, she had enlisted some help. My Mum. So, my Mum had been at the apartment since yesterday - before flying off to Istanbul tomorrow for a short trip.

So, where was Anita. She was attending a self-help course. She said, she wanted to learn something new, and her old college-mate came from Alor Star for the weekend, so she decided to tag along.

So, Idlan had been bored. I was bored since the morning weather was quite nice and I wouldn't mind taking my camera for a spin. We did go out though for a spot of coffee. Can't leave the nice weather to pass ....

Low Yat Look

Since I had some free time last Sunday, I walked - with the camera - towards Low Yat, enjoying the gorgeous weather. The MWC at Barcelona last weekend came with plenty of announcement - the HTC M9 and the Samsung S6 Edge to name a couple. I was keen to see if there had been any discounts going on at the plaza with the impending release.

No such luck. Business as usual from the look of things. I had a good look around at some cases for the iPad but nothing took my fancy. I was thinking of upgrading my 2 year-old Nexus 7, but the recent Lollipop update gave a new life to the ageing device. Although the battery life suffered big time, the new upgrade offered plenty of new excitement, especially in the notification department. The system also felt snappier than before.

And to be honest, the 7-inch Android tablet market had not been exciting for a while now, and certainly not after the release of Nexus 6, and the announcement that Google was not planning to replace the Nexus 7.The next up would be the Nexus 9, which personally felt to big. Samsung had a couple of offerings, but not much of an upgrade to my current tablet.

Frankly speaking, nothing much to see really. Maybe the next month would be interesting with the release of a host of new devices.
