The last few days had passed on pretty fast. The weekend was over for the boys. Time for an early night, for school tomorrow.
I plan to take a quick nap, set the alarm for midnight and see if I could get up. United playing Chelsea tonight ...
Family, Gombak House in Diary Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 4:45PM 
We were cleaning the apartment in preparation to return to Gombak this morning. The boys had been doing their reading for their exams in a couple of weeks, and now with their console which would be staying at the apartment.
Last chance for them to play until after the exams. The sunny weather outside made going out for a stroll a nice idea.

Instead, I forced myself to stay in, ending up by taking a nap in front of the TV. I needed that after a busy week. It would be morning clinic at Park City tomorrow, so a rest might just be a good idea.
By the time the cleaning was done, the weather had changed. Looked like there would be thunderstorm looming. Would wait until that passed by before setting off.
Big football match at midnight tonight. Not sure if I could muster it with a long day coming tomorrow ...

Wishing my friends and colleagues a Happy New Year. May it be filled with success and blessings. It was certainly glorious weather this morning, going on until late after afternoon when it started to drizzle.
I spent the afternoon with my parents at one of our relatives wedding in Sunway, happy to enjoy such great weather. We were worried that it would be stormy like yesterday afternoon. But not today.
This long weekend allowed for time to recharge. I would at least be having some time out tomorrow after a busy few days. We would also be returning to Gombak. That would be end for the boys' mini break. Back to the books for the boys for their end of year exams.
Back for long commute for me ...

The Pudu Wet Market is not your typical KL market. They sell many exotic things there, including frogs. Some of the walker went around looking for it - I found it towards the end. And sections of the market was not exactly welcoming to Moslems as they slaughter pigs there. Non halal!
Other sections of the market concentrated on fish and vegetables. There were meat area for Moslems.
There two main areas to the market. The smaller closed area - where the original market sat, and the open area where stalls mushroom during late mornings.
The open area was more exciting and colourful. The closed section were filled with permanent shops and quite cramped.
Plenty of subjects to photograph although I heard from one of the seller that the local authority raided the area earlier in the week. The vendors were rather apprehensive looking at a bunch of guys carrying cameras around. Therefore, they could be excused for not looking too impressed.
Mr FroggyNever the less, I took more than a hundred shot here, mainly on the faces of the sellers at the open market. I nearly got lost on the way out, but luckily I got hold of Ripi and had a nice cool cendul after the walk around the market.
The Faces at the Market
Carrying the 56 f1.2 meant that close-ups would really stand up against the background with a wicked bokeh to boot. Shooting at f1.2 at such a crowded and free moving area present a problem would focusing and the depth of field was really shallow.
I stepped down the aperture to 1.8 and fired away. The built in face recognition algorithm on the X-T1 certainly helped as I didn't have much time to focus at times.
Some of the vendors were happy to have their photos taken, but not all. Another thing I noticed were the number of foreigners working at the marking. They probably outnumber the locals.
They were mainly Nepalese, and they could actually speak a bit of Mandarin to interact with the buyers. Indonesians manned the majority of the Halal section. I supposed that was market forces at work. The foreigners could be hired at lower wages ....
Great fun, but I soon found myself walking in circles. The vendors don't like us photographers hanging around blocking the flow of customers ......
