Straight to ParkCity

Rather than starting my day in Subang, it would be straight to ParkCity this morning. I discharged my patients yesterday, so I had nobody to review this morning over in Subang. Might as well wait for the traffic to ease up before driving the opposite directions from my apartment to my other clinic.

But this would be rare though as I normally have patients to review. This happened since the last time I was on call was almost three weeks ago, and I discharged all my chemotherapy and transplant patient home before the weekend.

I still have clinic and Day Care to attend to this afternoon though.... and tomorrow would be another public holidays. Let's see what Anita wanted to do tomorrow. The joys were talking about museums.

Leaving from the Apartment

A slight change of plan for this week. The boys would be going to school from the apartment rather than from Gombak. It would be against the traffic, so we were not anticipating delays. The only thing was, our driver would have to take his motorbike from his house at Taman Melati early in the morning to the apartment in order to drive the boys to school.

We would be trying this for the rest of the week as eventually we would be moving here. It should be doable. The only problem would be coming back later in the afternoon as the traffic might be bad then. It would all be about timing. And finding the right route.

As it was today, the boys checked into school on time. Woke up earlier than usual but seemed happy enough to hit the showers early. Will be how they get on ....

Reopened Jaya ONE

I must confess that Jaya ONE is not an area I was familiar with. Been there a few times. The last time being some 5 years back. Since then, part of the mall had been rebuilt.

One of the main tenant of the new mall would be a group of shops called The School. Mainly a place for children's activities during weekend. A Lego play area, robotics, music centre and the likes.

Another shop of interest for me was the Centre for Asian Photographer. As mentioned on another entry, one of my friend held an exhibition there, which I visited earlier today.

Back to The School, we learned about this when we attended an exhibition at Mid Valley around July last year. Idlan got interested with the drum class on offer there. Since then, Anita had been keeping a close tab on when The School going to be opened.

So today, we physically went to the place. It would be operational by April. The facility so far looked amazing.

Looking forward to sample what on offer when it launches later.

Metals by Ming

I got to know Ming Thein from Flickr and over the years had became a fan of the work of this remarkable man. The word got out that he had some of his work on show at Centre for Asian Photographer over at Jaya ONE. And since Anita and the boys wanted to check the place anyhow, so I thought I could hit two birds with one stone.

Why not?

The Centre was a lot smaller than I thought. Privately funded, it had a cafe at the lower floor and you take a step on the top floor of the duplex unit to see the exhibition area.

Ming had around a couple of dozens of prints on display. The theme concerns metalwork. People working with metals and fabrication. Quite literally.

The prints were gorgeous, but I found that the walls were too crowded. And the lack of narrative to take me through the photos were disconcerting. Maybe I was used to exhibits being of a certain look. This certainly was a slight departure to it.

None the less, the works would be something to be proud of. Something worth looking at, both the work and the centre.

The centre is located on the second floor of the newly reopened Jaya ONE.

Proper Wingers. That's what we need.

We had yet to win a Premiership point this year. We were going through a barren spell, getting knocked out of the FA Cup and on the losing end of the first leg of the League Cup semifinal coming to the return fixture at Old Trafford.

It was clear that Moysey was under pressure. At least then crowd seemed to be behind him and that took some of the heat away. But he had to prove that he could handle the situation and winning last night was the first step towards that. Don't underestimate the importance of the win.

It also highlighted the tradition within the team. We always thrive with wingers. And they had to play and receive the ball in the wings. Switching Kagawa and Januzaj at halftime made the difference. That opened up the pitch and allowed the balance for United to built from then back from both sides of the pitch. Both the full backs were then able to overlap causing problems ton Swansea.

By widening the pitch, it also allowed United to dominate the centre of the pitch. It was congested in the first half and with the switch, Swansea had to be wary of attacks coming from the flanks. This allowed Carrick and Fletcher more space to dictate the pace of the game, and they surely did just that. They hardly gave the ball away in the second half.

We have to carry the momentum to push forward. And also wrap Januzaj in cotton wool.
