Cuti Raya Day-1

It sure had been a hectic day, but more fir Anita than me. She was still at the kitchen now perfecting her laksa. She reckoned that she would be at it past midnight.

All the main tasks completed. Satay, checked. Rendang, checked. Lemang, checked. Ketupat, checked. Next on the list would be laksa and bolognese. Everything going according to schedule. As well as the cleaning. We had four helpers coming in for the day, with three staying overnight - my parents' maid, our maid and her friend. Two of them Filipinos. Cleaning was tip top!

The boys were upstairs playing with sprinklers. The whole house was smoking! My task would be to get the gaji melayu in order for tomorrow as well as putting the bank notes into the ang pow. Easy task!

Right! Much to do now. Will blog later. Selamat Hari Raya!

Plaza Ramadan Winding Down

The plaza Ramadan which I went to earlier today - at Taman Melawati - was ready to pack up today. Only half of the stalls were opened. All of them saying that today would be their last day. They would be fetus ing to their respective kampungs from tonight.

I would definitely miss the drinks. Almost every time we had the chance to go over there, we would get some air mata kucing. Really hit the spot. The kuih there tensed to be lame, as I mentioned before.

Clearly some of the stalls were still going strongSo, not much take-out for tomorrow. Usually, we would be eating some food prepared for Raya on the evening before.

Anita had been preparing her rendang, plus there would be laksa and bolognese tomorrow. The boys, as usual would be up to no good. We bought some sparklers for then earlier but the quality wasn't that good. It was more smoke than fun. They got bored after a few minutes. Irfan had a bit if a burn on his leg as the debris from the sparkler kept hitting his feet. Painful stuff.

Cuti Raya Day-2

Since waking up this morning, I had been having this headache. Right at the top of my head. I tried ignoring it until I was back home for lunch, but it just got worse. I did a few errands and then sent to Mum's place with Anita and the boys. I took a nap there and when I woke up, the pain doubled.

I still ignored it, went to Pasar Ramadan in Melawati, and just grinned and beared it until berbuka. But it remained. It got better after some Panadol, but I was still feeling groggy until now.

Napping at Mum's. Makruh puasa.Anita preparing the rendang. And of course some sausages for the boys. So, no Tarawikh at the mosque, just at home looking at Puan Anita preparing rendang for Raya. I thought it was down to dehydration. In the last couple of days, since the move back to Gombak, I wasn't drinking much in the evening. And it was taking its toll. I've been taking plenty of fluids since and my head felt lighter.

Anita had a whole day of cooking to look forward to tomorrow. As for me, we have dine most of the groceries, but I was sure there would be plenty for me to do around the house.

Better get some rest tonight ....

Kicking Off

Last day of work and I was only in for the morning round and the mornng clinic. No other issues noted and I was off the hospital by lunch time. A quick stop at the bank I'm Bangsar followed by an afternoon at my Mum's place at Bukit Antarabangsa.

After the boys got grumpy, it was time to stop at the pasar Ramadan for food. Anita would start cooking later tonight and whole day tomorrow. She would be cooking rendang and lakes for Raya. Then some Bolognese for the children who come to visit. A whole day of running around would be on the cards for me tomorrow.

Cuti Raya Day-3

Back to work this being Monday. The day started with the ward round in Subang, followed by the drive across to ParkCity. Only one patient to see there, and before long I was in my way to the apartment.

I had to settle some bills there as well as picking up some documents. After that was done, it was afternoon clinic back in Subang, before the afternoon rounds and some procedure.

Heavy trafficIdlan kept these in orderSurprisingly, the traffic back to Gombak was heavier than expected. I thought, with the school closed and plenty of the city dwellers already started their journey back to kampung, the roads would be easier. Well, not quite.

Today would be the last full day of work. I should be free by tomorrow afternoon, but I have my work cut out. Plenty of errands to do then. It would start with some groceries in the afternoon, and that should last until after Berbuka. Expect havoc!
