Anita's Night Out

Anita had been fasting for the past three days and tonight, her friends asked her to join them to break fast together at one if the restaurant in town. Luckily, I was able get home early. So, off she went.

And the boys had been in top form tonight. After finishing their homeworks, they just jumped and jumped. Driving me nuts. In the end, I had to let them have their iPads. They seemed happy afterwards, and I was able to finish some reports for work. It worked out fine!

Better Today?

Was it any better today compared to the day before? Well, the visibility was almost the same, but the pungent smell that was driving me dizzy the day before was gone. The air was now more bearable.

Can't really see the sun in the morningNotice at Bangsar VIllage IISunlight finally breaking through by the afternoonThe boys' school were still closed, so I actually joined them for lunch at Bangsar this afternoon. I was late though but luckily managed to get a parking spot still. Even though the normal schools were already opened, I spot many school children around with their parents during lunch. It was very likely that the parents took the day off anticipating school to be closed, and it was opened instead, they might as well made the day out of it. The air was still unhealthy to be quite honest. School being opened also meant heavy traffic in the morning.

It started to become cloudy - not that I realised it - come late afternoon and before ling, I could see thunder and lightning in the horizon. Rain was coming. The bad thing was, it inky lasted about ten minutes. It wasn't enough to wash the haze away ....

Hopefully tomorrow would be better .....

Purify Me!

Anita managed to dig out the purifyers she naught the last time we were hit by haze. It had been sitting in storage for at least a couple of years, and thank God they were still in working order. Yes, we got a couple of these.

Not sure it would do anything much but increase the electricity bill. It could ionise the air while purifying it apparently, but as for the haze, not sure if it would work. As long as it would keep Puan Anita happy, then I was all for it.

So, purify me .......

The Haze

The haze had definitely cause my eyes to itch. My throat also felt strange since I arrived at ParkCity. The stench was something else.

I then got a phone call from Anita. The dust particles had already entered our house and Idlan had been coughing. We had to restart him on Ventolin as a precaution. But, generally speaking the situation in Kelang Valley was getting worst. A quick glance out my apartment definitely looked worrying. I shudder with the thought of this was going to get worst before it started to settle.

Anita was asking if we would be better off staying at the apartment. I didn't think it would make much if a difference. The stench could be smelt even at the apartment. The only remedy at the moment would be to wear masks in the open, and to.make sure that I'm not dehydrated. My throat was definitely getting more irritated.

Smooth Traffic

Since the schools in Kelang Valley were closed today, traffic to work was smooth, although visibility was definitely affected by the haze. After seeing my patient in Subang, I then drove across to ParkCity. Again, traffic was smooth.

I was sure that many parents had to take emergency leaves today as they would struggle to get anybody to look after their children since the school closure was only announced late yesterday. That helped to explain the lack of traffic on the road.

For today, I had clinics and referrals to see. That should start me out for the coming few days.

I will be on call this Friday, so I had a few days to rejuvenate. In the mean time, let's enjoy the traffic, if not the haze.
