Minus 9

In the hot weather, I couldn't help but notice the ice cream stalls at the roadside. Yesterday, I tried a stall by the lake. Italian ice cream were mainly thick yoghurt called gelato. These ones were super thick and taste like the real flavour they were made from. Basically the strawberry gelato taste like you were actually eating strawberry. And I had some coffee flavour, and it cane with coffee beans in the mix. They were that authentic.

I shared the experience with some of my colleagues, and they pointed me out to shop in the middle of town which allegedly serve the best gelato. It was called Minus 9 (-9).

The gelato kiosk I visited the day beforeIt certainly lived up to its billing and then some more. I purposely ordered the coffee flavour, and my God, did it taste like coffee. Costwise, it wasn't that expensive. Possibly cheaper than Haagen-Dasz back home. They even had exotic - to them - flavours such as pineapple and coconuts. No green teai. Yet.

I would definitely have to sneak back there once more before I return back home. The gelato stalls in KL had no chance against these guys ....

Heavy Morning Session

The session this morning was really heavy. At least for me. By the time I was ready for lunch, my head was ready to explode. The lure of just chilling out was just too much. So, we decided to go out for lunch.

We ended up at a restaurant just around the corner from the Congress Hall. Italian again, but a nice prim restaurant, a bit different from yesterday's cafe. But with a typical family run clinic, the service was slow. We had the time to plan what to do for the rest of the day, as well the plan of escape for tomorrow.

For now, let's enjoy the lunch ....

Sound of Music

The hotel we stayed was right on top of a hill and there were limited bus service coming down. One every hour I think, with the final trip from town leaving at 7 bearing in mind, sunset would be at 9.30.

Since I decided to leave late, I took the public bus down into town. It was actually a nice drive through the lush greenary. And there were plenty of people just chilling out in the sun. I was wondering what they were doing with their time. Or was it just part of their summer ritual. Everybody taking it easy.

I wished that I could just leave the bus and tumble on the green grass just outside the bus window. Listening to Sound of Music in the background of course.

Nice sunny weather, with cool breeze on tow. You can't beat that ......

The Second Morning

I decided to leave a bit later for the second morning as the transfer was too early for my liking. I therefore had a nice breakfast, and did a bit of surfing before taking the ride down.

The weather seemed a bit colder this morning. Possibly it would be raining as well. So, planning to stay indoors as much as we could although the town centre was just too picturesque for somebody like me. Maybe I would do an impromptu photowalk during lunch. Even the McDonald's here looked photogenic.

As for this morning, it was time to walk downhill to the bus stop. Lets see how the public transport work here ..... in Switzerland.

Please Feed Me

Finding food to make everybody in the group happy proved to be a challenge. I was OK, as long as I can avoid meat and there were salad available. So, for lunch, even though I found the food to be good, a few of my colleagues felt otherwise.

For lunch, we didn't venture far. We had an Italian pasta by the Conference Hall, quite a posh one. Since the break was only for an hour, it made sense not to go far.

There would be a planery session right after lunch, and then I planned to go out for a quick excursion into town. To be back before the last session of the day.

I was distinctly pulled however towards the McDonald's just found the corner from the Conference Hall. First of all. It didn't look like a McDonald's. More like a posh restaurant actually. But, that would have to wait. Maybe I'll drop by there tomorrow.
