FEDEX Won!
This was one for the record books. Six months back, if somebody were to tell me that Federer and Nadal were to meet again in the final of a Grand Slam, I would tell Tham that they were crazy.
Not only I was wrong. Such final happened and it happened at the next tournament that both of them were fit. And the battle was epic.
We were attending a kenduri at Kota Damansara that evening and once the event was done, I was able to catch the final set on my next stop. It was a hard-fought match and in the end, Federer managed to keep his cool and clinched his 18th Grand Slam title. He looked on great shape and who knew, maybe the 20th may not be a far-fetched idea ...
The Final
It was the final Sunday of Wimbledon and we were treated to a real epic of a Men's Final. Djorkovic playing the home favourite Murray. The first three games if the first set lasted almost 2 minutes and the the game looked to be even.
Murray took the first set, but was just been broken in the second set. Almost all the games went to deuce, and they were halfway into the second set after an hour and a half of playing in bright, glorious sunshine. I could get a heatstroke just by looking at them playing.
I don't think I would be able to watch the game right till the end. I had to.work.tomorrow, but would definitely be checking on Twitter from time to time. Yes, I was a part of #TeamMurray. Sad, but the English spirit in me lived on.
Stop the press! Andy Murray won in straight sets. Well done!
