Cuti Raya Day-5

Not yet officially on leave bit with the completion of my last on call for Ramadan and this morning's clinic, I felt that the Raya break was just around the corner, and there was a need to get the preparations going. It would all start with some cleaning up and recovering from the last call.

The boys actually helped out with the cleaning up earlier today, and I managed to catch up with some sleep this afternoon. Feeling refreshed, I took the family out to Bangsar Shopping Centre after berbuka as Anita had some shopping to sort out. Mainly some Raya cookies which she had been eyeing for.

While we were there, we also had some snack at La Bodega while watching the Saturday evening crowd pass by. We also did some take-out for sahur, plus some groceries.

We planned to leave the apartment for Gombak tomorrow afternoon. But at the rate we were going, I didn't think anybody was in the mood to leave yet. We have yet to start packing. And the boys really loved their rooms and were already planning what to fill them with. But not this month, as the bulk of the budget went to Raya preparations.

So, some more relaxing tonight as I could see that tomorrow would be a long day .....

Cleaning Up

After the mess from last jght and this morning, the boys did something unexpected. They actually cleaned the bathroom. We didn't even have to get our maid to help.

Maybe this was a ploy to allow us to let them in again tonight. We shall see .....

Don't Press the Button

We didn't tell them that the bathroom has a jacuzzi. We thought that they won't be able to figure it out. They noticed that there were nozzles on the sides of the bath tub and it was smaller than the one we had at the old apartment. So, last night when Irfan was having a bath, Idlan got curious. He stared pressing the button on the side of the water sprouts.

He soon discovered that the water came out of the side ports and all the bubbles in the bath just practically multiplied. And the rest was history ..... or to us, a nightmare.

They only came out from the bath at 10 last night and they were at it again when I returned from clinic this afternoon. And the floor of the bathroom was flooded. It was too slippery and we had to mop the place again.

Since we only planned to leave for Gombak tomorrow, I could imagine them getting in again tonight. And tomorrow morning. They just refused to go out of the apartment even for food. Disaster!

Long Friday

It was a long night last night and I only managed a couple of hits of sleep. And today being Friday, combined with Ramadan, the condition really took its toll. I was really tired by the time I was done with the afternoon rounds. If I were to put my head on a pillow before Berbuka, I would risk taking sahur as my next meal. It was that kind of a day.

Last night was my last call before Raya, and I would be winding down in terms of admission by this weekend, before taking a week off for Raya. But tomorrow clinic would be a long one since there would be hardly any in the next week or so.

We would be staying at the apartment until this Sunday, before packing to return to Gombak. The boys would be reluctant to go, but we had to. Idlan had made up his room already - Irfan's remained a mess. Was at the bath watching over Irfan as I was writing this. He just loved to stay in the Jacuzzi.

Ward Closure

My holiday for the coming Raya was already sorted. But for some of my nurses, it would be work as usual. But by sheer luck, my main Oncology ward would be closed for the Raya weekend.

Therefore, most of my Malay nurses get to enjoy an extended break for the Raya. The patients would be placed on another ward when the closure took place. I could hear the celebration in the background.....
