Lunch at Sagano

My Dad-in-Law was entertaining a business associate from South Africa this afternoon, and asked if we could join along. The last time we met the couple was when Anita was still carrying Idlan. That was more than 8 years ago now.

Dad asked where we should have the lunch. The boys actually quite liked Sagano, or alternatively Double Tree. In the end, we decided for Sagano at Renaissance Hotel, and managed to get a booking. we set off there after my ward round and the traffic this afternoon in KL was super light. We got there in under 20 minutes and we had a lovely lunch.

Sagano has became popular since we first visited it three years ago. It was a gem, as the food was very nice and the price was reasonable. It was still a notch below PJ Hilton when it came to Japanese buffet, but getting a booking at the Hilton was becoming more difficult lately. I noticed in the last couple of visits that the restaurant was getting packed most of the time. We would always call in for a booking the day before, as there was a risk of being turned away.

So, after the lunch was done - the boys going gaga on the teriyaki - it was time for a trip to KLCC for their haircut.

A Touch of Local Football

It was a toss between watching Mania, or a glimpse of what Malaysian football had to offer. Sime Darby was playing Kelantan in the FA Cup Final tonight and the match was shown live on TV. Should I be rooting for Kelantan, or be a loyal servant of Sime Darby?

The match so far had been a drab affair. It was almost unfathomable how this bunch of "professionals" managed to get even the basics of trapping the ball and making 10 yard passes wrong. But what they managed to do right was copy their European counterpart at diving and feigning injuries. In the last 10 minutes alone, I had seen a few cynical challenges, and the majority were coming from the Sime Darby ranks.

Kelantan were clearly playing the more attractive football, but they were being frustrated by the Sime Darby defensive formation. And don't get me started with the crowds taking with them the laser devices. Malaysia clearly still have a long way to go Even to reach the heyday of Mokhtar Dahari ....... But we are getting there hopefully.

Evening In

After work, we went over to Bangsar Village for a spot of lunch. After the meal, Idlan decided to burn some calorie by hitting the gym. Kidz Gym I meant. He spent a good hour there. But Irfan decided to go with Puan Anita to shop instead. He was complaining of being sleepy since he woke up really early this morning, all excited.

The weather had been rather gloomy this afternoon, and I decided against going to the pool. Instead, we bought some DVD to watch and was planning to have the evening in.

Oh! What mess!

It is unbelievable what an overnight stay could do to the state of affair at the apartment. The boys room was in such mess this morning, that we decided to just leave it as it was. After all, it would get messy again should we try to tidy things up.

When I woke up for worn this morning, Idlan was still fast asleep, while Irfan was already in front of the TV watching the Disney Channel. We had a lovely back fast before I set off to work - I left at just after 8.30. The weather was also right gorgeous then.

The Code was Broken

So, as expected, I had been watching some quality television tonight while my boys spent the evening at their room. Suffice to say that in the last hour, they had managed to create such mess.

Left to my own devices, I flipped through the TV channel, and stumbled into this. "Breaking the Magician's Code". This must have been the fifth time I had watched this. But it remained riveting each time. So, for some light entertainment, why not?

Good night, and have a great weekend.
