Treat for Irfan

So, the school to was ending for the boys, and from this coming weekend, they would be off for six weeks. SIX weeks! I was sure to grow more grey hair by then. They have also finished their exams and we would be heading for Fraser's Hill after my clinic this Saturday for three nights. A nice lazing little trip. Would be bringing my in-laws as well.

Asking Idlan which colour he prefersAll packed up

For the last six months, Irfan was asking me for a Nintendo. Since he did very ll in the recent exams, he got his treat. So, off. Went yesterday afternoon to Plaza Damas - our usual dealer - for his Nintendo. So, he went home happy, and last night, he actually slept with it. At least we know that he would be quiet all the way up the hill .....

Evening In

After work, we went over to Bangsar Village for a spot of lunch. After the meal, Idlan decided to burn some calorie by hitting the gym. Kidz Gym I meant. He spent a good hour there. But Irfan decided to go with Puan Anita to shop instead. He was complaining of being sleepy since he woke up really early this morning, all excited.

The weather had been rather gloomy this afternoon, and I decided against going to the pool. Instead, we bought some DVD to watch and was planning to have the evening in.

Pushing and Shoving

The initial plan was to have the boys joined by their friends on Monday and spending it at Kidzania. Unfortunately, it didn't go as planned, and they ended up with just Anita.

After my wars round, undecided to join them at the venue to make sure everything went according to plan. And oh boy, I was glad I went along as I didn't think Anita would've coped. The place was a mess!

I will blog later about that an how things could be improved as I was certain that it only takes small steps to make a huge difference. In the end, it put my boys off, and after one station, Irfan refused to join another with all the wait, pushing and shoving involved. It was partly my fault as well for teaching them to be disciplined and gentlemen, rather than push people about. You obviously needed a bit of crassness to get on with this world. If we could take anything from the day out at Kidzania, it was that the mor pushy you are, the higher you get in society. Reality I supposed.

But again, I believe that things could get better. As today, their friends would be joining them, they would be going to Kidzania again. At least Anita knew what to expect this time. There will be blood .....

To Sport, Or Not

Puan Anita has been worrying all night last night. Idlan was due for School Sports Day today, and she was worried that Idlan won't be able to cope. The event would be held at UIA, and Anita was worried that he would be wandering around looking for toilets etc.

She was asking if we could just not let him go. To be honest, I couldn't really blame her being concerned with the news of a 5-year old abducted in Johore yesterday. So, at last check, Idlan went to UIA. But I wouldn't be surprised if Anita followed suit.

The Universal Studios

Everyone has been asking me, was the trip to Universal Studios worth it? Of course! Most definitely. I initially had problem convincing my children to go. After all, there was a huge billboard along the MRR2 near my house in Gombak which said, "Sunway Lagoon, Asia's Best Attraction." And they swore by that!
Now, they kept telling me that Universal Studios couldn't be as good. After the trip, they changed their mind.
But, if you don't believe the boy's endorsement, you should go there yourself. It was electric. From the moment you enter the park, the excitement was palpable.

The crowd was apparently lighter, but still a bit more than a typical Monday since it was a public holiday in Malaysia. I could tell that the majority of the visitors - as well as the staffs - were from Malaysia. We got purr tickets beforehand via the internet, so all we had to do was start straight at the entrance queue. We reached there shortly after 10.30 am, and there was already a crowd. Despite that, everything was orderly. The next step was to pick up the park map. They were everywhere and easy to get hold off.
The park was basically devised into 7 areas, all with a unique theme. In the end we spent more time at the Lost World - a Jurassic Park-based attraction - and Far Far Away where Shrek lived. The main dining area was by Hollywood area.
Rather than dwell on in one long entry, I might as well write on the individual area separately. So, watch this space …..
