Moez's Fourth

We had a nice afternoon celebrating Moez’s fourth birthday last weekend at the newly opened Atria Shopping Mall. Dina and Azmil had the party at Jungle Gym. Crowded but both Idlan and Irfan ended up in the many climbs all afternoon, leaving us to chat and catch up.

Time for the cakesIt was Ironman! And of course, we didn't come in such ...The prezzies of course ...Let's the professional handle it ...The usual works were there. Cakes, magic show and the clown. Not to mention the nice food. Jungle Gym definitely had the right idea when it came to children parties as the area for party were spacious, with many things to keep the children occupied.

Security was also top notch and everybody were tagged. Maintenance was also pretty decent.

The clown was here!!!!

Anita with Dina, Moez's MumThe clown that they had was also pretty good and entertaining. He really put up a show for everyone. We ended up chatting until late afternoon. Luckily there were not many calls for me that lunchtime. Atria also offered ample parking although getting there was rather tricky as this was the first time we been there since the place was rebuilt from the ground up. It used to be more of a community mall back then, now turned into an upmarket joint. Definitely worth another visit.

Plenty of things to do here for the childrenTV stationCotton candy anybody? My boys were missing in there somewhere ...I hope that the birthday boy enjoyed the party. He was certainly buzzing all over the place. I was sure that he would be happy with his presents as well .... Happy Birthday Moez! And how could forget his first birthday from 3 years back ...

Jump Street Party

We had a nice Sunday afternoon yesterday attending a party at Jump Street. It was for one of Irfan’s classmate and the boys had a solid couple of hours of jumping and bouncing throughout the place.

With the heavy rain outside, it was certainly a great plan.

The party was taken care of by the venue with a couple of instructors taking the children through their paces as part of the package. They get to experience all the games - plus dodgeball of course - in turns.

Idlan taking a refuel break ....The venue also provided a separate area for parties - where the obligatory sing-song and cake cutting took place. Party food was also provided by the venue and it turned out to be smooth. While the children were bouncing, we got to sit down at their cafe overlooking the whole place. No headache. The children had fun, and certainly not a bad place for parties.

Hot Pot is now Zenith Cafe

One of out favourite restaurant in town from a few years back was the Hot Pot, located at Damansara Damai. It was introduced to us by our friend Malis and Adri who lived around the area during one of our visits to their condo. We frequented there for a number of months until word got out that they were moving. I loved their masak lemak daging salai.

After a number of months, I heard the owners Dino and Fazah opened a joint in town, near a mosque. But since they were musicians, it was kinda tricky opening a restaurant without a live band. So, earlier this year, they moved again, and this time in Puncak Alam which was about 45 minutes drive from out place in Bangsar. The name of their outlet had also changed to Zenith Cafe.

Reserved ....Simple but cozy Instruments were out but nobody playingWhat's on the menu ....

Last weekend, Adri again asked us if we wanted to go. And since I was free - and our maid is away - we decided to go. We made an order upfront as the daging salai was no longer standard in their menu and last Saturday evening, we packed everyone in our MPV - four children and four adults - for a night out. It was a good 30 minutes drive from Damansara Damai but it was worth it.

Dino wasn't in since it was the KL Bike Week that weekend. Kak Fazah was around and we got our fix. The new place did have space to jam, but the house band was away that evening. So, no live music. I got my daging salai - with the same zing as before. Had a really nice time, and the decoration of the restaurant was really great.

The ambiance was cosy with plenty of English feel to it. The breeze outside was really fresh.

Kak Fazah doing the cookingThe daging salai was readyNeatHomelyIt was getting dark outsideThe boys tucking inThe restaurant was located in the new township of Puncak Alam, and there were not that many shops opened at the area yet. Parking was never an issue and I was sure nobody would bother them even if they jam till the morning.

The boys enjoyed each other company and we set down for a chat with Kak Fazah before leaving. They also have grills on certain weekend - which Adri recommended. All in all a wonderful night out. We wished that there was live music though ... so maybe I had to come again soon ....

I guess the best way to get around to the cafe would be through their Facebook page.

Birthday Lunch

From my MRSM days, I have a friend who was born on the same day as I am. Each year we wished each other Happy Birthday. A couple of years back, he was taken ill but has since been making good recovery. Since it was right after Raya and I was on a long break, I asked if we could out for lunch.

I also had a friend coming back for a short break from New York, and invited him to join with our parents. Unfortunately my "twin" couldn't make it, but we had a fabulous time with my other friend none the less.

The venue was one of our favourite joint, a Arab restaurant - Al-Halabi - at Pavilon. I thought I eat too much there and spent the afternoon sleeping .... Might as well as the EURO 2016 Final would be later on that night .....

Will be planning another lunch next year hopefully and this time I would make sure that he can join ....
