Welcomed Days Off

Every once in a while, I could do with a day off, or three. And that was what I had in store this weekend although due to family circumstances, the plan had changed somewhat.

The boys were still at school but with Friday being a public holiday, we were thinking of spending a long weekend in PD. Now, we decided to chill at home. We also had an event to attend on Saturday evening, so best just to stay put. Maybe we would drive somewhere on the Sunday.

Unfortunately as it was often the case, the weather tended to be horrible when I had a day off. The curse returned again to Day to haunt me. The weather had been horrible. I don't if it rained. Instead it stayed dull all day.

Typical weather when I am on leaveAfter my morning rounds, I decided to join Anita for breakfast. Then came a quick drive for some shopping with my camera in hand. Alas, the lights were bad. I was already home for lunch, catching up on an episode of Sherlock while waiting for the boys to return from school.

I might catch a movie or two on Netflix tonight. Difficult to wind down if you couldn't do what you wanted to do ...

Lazy Morning

As per tradition, I normally take the first couple of days of Ramadhan off. This year, I was on call on the day before Raya, which meant that I had to sort out the admissions in the first day. Therefore, I could take things a bit easier on the morning of the second. And I did just that.

After sleeping over after Subuh, I took my time getting up for my ward round. When I was finally done, I only reached the hospital at around 9, going through my rounds and was ready for home before noon.

The curtains remained undrawn Quick peek into Idlan's roomI spent the rest of the afternoon with Anita, first of all doing some shopping, and then heading to the bank. We settled the kids before joining my family at Bukit Antarabangsa for berbuka.

My colleagues would be away for the week from the third day of Ramadhan. So, I might as well enjoy my down time to catch some sleep and just chill out.

The Next Day

For to bed early last night. All four of us. But still, I had to drag Irfan out of bed this morning. He was real sleepy, despite sleeping most of the way yesterday. Cheeky as usual.

So, with me still on holiday - I delayed my morning rounds this morning - I took the boys to school. Havoc in the car. I was glad to finally eject them out! So, Anita and I had the time to have breakfast together.

Then she followed me to the hospital when I did my quick rounds before going out to lunch together - at Sime Darby Convention Center which was worth another entry.

We had a lovely afternoon and were now sleepy from too much eating. The plan was to do a quick grocery before picking the boys up from school, before going out for a movie.

That would occupy the rest of the day. In time to sleep, and another day on call tomorrow.
