Easy like Sunday Afternoon

Perfect afternoon. After a hefty lunch, the kids got their iPads out, I got to browse some gadgets and Puan Anita was having a field day at Living Quarters. Her mission; to decorate the toilets at the apartment. All five of them. Wish me luck!

At least the boys were behaving themselves. Both of them were playing Puss in Boots Fruit Ninja. Mighty cute!

Sunny Sunday

The Gombak house suffered from water shortage all weekend. We decided on waking up this morning to head to the apartment, spend the day there doing the washing and everything. It happened that I had to be at the hospital later in the afternoon, so, it wasn't a bad idea after all.

We had to return early though. United kicks off early this evening. It could be a key weekend as if we beat QPR and Arsenal did us a favour by beating Citeh at home, the title would swing to Old Trafford big time.

Just sorted things out at the apartment and were ready to head out for lunch. Not decided yet in where to go. But Bangsar Village is only 5 minutes away. That may be the destination.

Sunday Homework

Before we headed out to our apartment to do a bit of planning a cleaning, we had to get the boys organised first. That meant it was homework time! Idlan got plenty to do, and it took him a good hour.

It seemed that everything these days resolved around their homework. The boys were tired by the time those were done. No time for play. I remembered when if was in school, homework were a doodle. Something I could just breeze through in 15 minutes or so.

How educations has changed. But, now that it was done, time to head out to the apartment. Maybe a bit of time by the swimming pool .........

Sunday Afternoon

A spare couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. The children were doing their homework as tomorrow would be a school day after a week away for the Chinese New Year break. There won't be much school in the next couple of weeks however.

Next Wednesday would be a day off for Hari Wilayah. Then there would be another long weekend, with Thaipusam and Maulud Rasul. The boys would be absent the an extra day as well since we would be traveling to Singapore for the long weekend. Our first real holiday traveling abroad, and the first time their passports would be stamped!

Puan Anita as usual had been sorting out the packing all weekend. As for me, I am trying to sort out a quick way to blog on the fly and I was really impressed with the new version of Posterous. I had been using them since 2008, and it had been kinda lame for a while. The new revamp at the end of 2011 really did wonder for the product, and better still, they were still free of charge and now the API is much more durable.

I will write more about Posterous after the field trip …..

A Sunday Stroll at Pavilion

Right after my stop at UM, I decided to take my X100 for a quick spin. Destination, Pavilion and its 300 foot dragon at the main foyer.

Even at 11 am, the place was already crowded and a lot of pushing and shoving was going on. Not my cup of tea. So I did just that. I sat down for a quick drink.

The dragon was a bit of an anticlimax as you were not able to get close. The thing was hanging 50 feet off the ground. Not really close enough for a good snap. The crowd was not helpful either. So, after the obligatory snaps, I went outside Pavilion entrance and I was glad I did that.

The overcast weather allowed for great close-up shots of the details on the Buddy Bear. Spent more than half an hour looking around and got plenty of photos. There were great patterns and colours to be snapped. And the area outside was a lot more open and the crowd were a lot more sensible.

Funnybthat there were plenty to be seen if you look closely enough. The artists clearly put plenty of effort into their work in designing the bear. Taking stock of them really put you back a bit. It soon became clear how lame the USA and the British designs were. But there you go.

Rather than heading out to Bukit Bintang, I decided to hold back and make my way back home. I have a birthday party to attend letter in the afternoon. One of Idlan's classmate's party. Otherwise, I would have gone on. I was on a roll. More on the Buddy Bear snaps later.
