World Cup at Pyramid

It must have been a good few months since I last visited Sunway Pyramid. I hated the parking system out there and tried to avoid it during peak hours.

Today, I was free by 10.30, and I decided to see what was cooking there. Pretty much the same, except that one of the lobby had a cafe occupying half of its space. A posh one at that.

So, what was the theme? The World Cup obviously. Flags galore but there were no activities going on. Maybe it was still way too early. ‎

Return to the Pyramid

Believe it or not, even though Subway Pyramid was only a 5 minutes drive from my hospital, I had not been there for quite some time. Ever since I opened my Desa ParkCity clinic. I usually had Monday and Wednesday morning free. Not anymore.

So today, before the Friday Prayers, I had to do a bit of shopping there and since I was there quite early, decided to have a quick lunch as well. It was still much the same. Not many new shops. But the electronic stores on the top floor were still going strong. You could get most of the latest gadget there, minus the hustle and hype of Low Yat.

Parking was still a pain, even at 11.30 in the morning. I remember last year that I had to park at the hotel just to get a spot. The place could clog up really fast ......

F1 is here. Just about.

Rather than spending the morning at the apartment after the rounds, I decided to head to Starbucks as I have a lecture to prepare for next weekend. The place was only 10 minutes away from the hospital. So, I thought I light as well just hang around there.

There, I saw a F1 car by the lobby. No, not Ferrari, but one of the newer entry to the Formula, a team from Russia I think. It seems that the F1 fever finally hitting KL although the fact that the organiser made a big mess with the concerts seemed to have put a dampener onto things. Will I be going to Sepang? Hell no! If only there were trains from KL Sentral heading straight to the circuit, then I would definitely consider it .....

Sunway Lights

Even though we stayed at Sunway for a week, I could only spend a couple of nights really exploring the place as I was at work most of the time. The interior of the hotel was pretty well decked out for Xmas, with spectacular decorations and activities.

The lights at the main entrance was nothing shot of awesome as well. We unfortunately missed the parade as were at the movies.

Dinner at Fullhouse

On one of the evening we were at Sunway, we had dinner at Fullhouse, a rather unique boutique cafe with branches all over town. The flagship was the spectacular converted bungalow at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. For the past year, we had been wondering what the place was all about and since there was a branch here, we decided to give it a go.

The menu was in the form of a magazineThe drinks came in these large trinkets

The interior was very cosy, and the seating - especially the sofa was very nice. The boys enjoyed it, by the food was not so. The menu was eclectic, in the true sense of East meets West. The spaghetti had green "chili paid" in them for extra zing. My beef tenderloin had fruit bits as part of the gravy. The children menu was a bit more conservative however. The drinks came in large trinkets. All those small unique touches.

There was some cili padi in that mushroom speghettiAnita's croque monsier, with pineapplesSome raisins in the gravy. Not my kind of gravy unfortunately.

Unfortunately, we were left disappointed with the food. The past was not bad, but my steak was not great, to put in mildly. If this restaurant was a book, the cover was much better than the actual chapters if you catch my drift. However, I was sure it was a great place to catch a drink or snacks. But for a heavy meal, maybe one should look for an alternative.
