Happy Sunday

I just can't help it. I woke up early after sleeping in front of the TV last night. The intention was to watch the ManYoo- West Brom game, but I guessed the lull of the pillow was too strong! I ended up being woken up by Anita after the game finished. 2 nil to United she said before I stumbled back to sleep in the bedroom.

So, I woke up just after Subuh this morning, at around the usual time I woke up during work days. ANd I just couldn't get back to sleep. I ended watching YouTube reviews and was quite interested in the latest offering from BlackBerry. The Android-powered Priv. It retained both the physical and the excellent software keyboards from the Z series. If the tide is ride, it could be a winner! It's not yet available in Malaysia. Maybe when it was released, I'd have a look.

It was still too early to get to the hospital for the morning rounds. But maybe I just have a shower and see what was for breakfast .... Good Sunday all!

Weekend of Misadventures

Finally had a free weekend after my trips abroad. One of my colleague asked for a switch of calls, and I ended up with some free time.

We started with a nice dinner at The Curve on Friday, ending with sugar rush in my part.

I spent the Saturday afternoon at Bangsar Village looking at children and families going around in Halloween costumes, followed by planned visit to a photo exhibit. But Anita made me change my mind and we were off to Putrajaya for a bit of LAMPU, a light show there. It rained unfortunately.

Then came Sunday. Anita was keen to bring out her picnic mat, and reading about a food fest in town definitely excited her. Foodgasmfest 2015 entered the fray and we were there for lunch. With an empty stomach. Unfortunately our stomach stayed empty when we left ....

At least we had the chance to have some time to ourselves though ...

School's Off

My boys had been celebrating since the announcement were made around lunchtime that school would be closed both tomorrow and Tuesday. It looked like their weekend was extended to 4 four days courtesy of the haze.

It was pretty bad when I drove for my morning rounds at around 9, but it had brightened up considerably even since. In fact, Anita and I went out for dinner at the stalls earlier and it appeared to have improved a lot.

I felt sorry for the Ministry since as soon as they announced the school closure, the haze tended to improve. Last Sunday, it rained almost straight after the announcement. At the current rate, we might have bright blue sky tomorrow ....

The Cousins are Here

It promises to be havoc. And the fun started this afternoon when the cousins came to stay for a couple of nights. The school holidays has started for them, but for both Idlan and Irfan, they still had to go to school next week.

My Mum also came along as my sister took a break in Phuket, coming back tomorrow.

As planned, the day started with a trip to the supermarket to buy some junkfood to fuel them for the weekend. Not sure what they picked up, but it can't be good. They had been running since after dinner and now were in the room playing games I was sure. Not sure what time they would hit the bed, and I am pretty sure they would only get up by lunch.

Better plan for lunch tomorrow then ....

#SehatiSejiwa

Merdeka this year fell on a Monday, meaning a nice extended weekend for everyone. I was on call last Friday, meaning I was able to use the couple of days to relax. But, that was not the only event taking place in town. Bersih 4.0 also took place, an event hoping to change the local political landscape for years to come. Or at least that was what we hoped for.

At least the event of the weekend went by without any unsavory incident except for this, and as usual both sides of the political divide would be claiming victory of sorts. But the truth of the matter is, it was somewhere in between and the dissatisfaction of the public on the ruling government was registered. The fallout however, would take time to be seen. And today, we were back to celebrate our Independence Day. And as long as both sides treat today as what it is, then there is hope for the Country.
