School's Off

My boys had been celebrating since the announcement were made around lunchtime that school would be closed both tomorrow and Tuesday. It looked like their weekend was extended to 4 four days courtesy of the haze.

It was pretty bad when I drove for my morning rounds at around 9, but it had brightened up considerably even since. In fact, Anita and I went out for dinner at the stalls earlier and it appeared to have improved a lot.

I felt sorry for the Ministry since as soon as they announced the school closure, the haze tended to improve. Last Sunday, it rained almost straight after the announcement. At the current rate, we might have bright blue sky tomorrow ....

The Cousins are Here

It promises to be havoc. And the fun started this afternoon when the cousins came to stay for a couple of nights. The school holidays has started for them, but for both Idlan and Irfan, they still had to go to school next week.

My Mum also came along as my sister took a break in Phuket, coming back tomorrow.

As planned, the day started with a trip to the supermarket to buy some junkfood to fuel them for the weekend. Not sure what they picked up, but it can't be good. They had been running since after dinner and now were in the room playing games I was sure. Not sure what time they would hit the bed, and I am pretty sure they would only get up by lunch.

Better plan for lunch tomorrow then ....

#SehatiSejiwa

Merdeka this year fell on a Monday, meaning a nice extended weekend for everyone. I was on call last Friday, meaning I was able to use the couple of days to relax. But, that was not the only event taking place in town. Bersih 4.0 also took place, an event hoping to change the local political landscape for years to come. Or at least that was what we hoped for.

At least the event of the weekend went by without any unsavory incident except for this, and as usual both sides of the political divide would be claiming victory of sorts. But the truth of the matter is, it was somewhere in between and the dissatisfaction of the public on the ruling government was registered. The fallout however, would take time to be seen. And today, we were back to celebrate our Independence Day. And as long as both sides treat today as what it is, then there is hope for the Country.

Before the Fight

It seemed that everybody were talking about the Pacman fight this morning. Will be joining the hype a bit later after a spot of breakfast, in time to reach home.

It's Hari Wesak here today, hence it's holiday today and tomorrow. Just did my post-call rounds and I deserved a bit of down time. What better way than to chill at home in front of the TV.

It was almost time to get ready to rumble ...

Decidedly Gloomy

Sunday came along again. And while I was preparing to head out for my round - the Weekly Sunday Morning Ward Round (tm) of course - a peak outside just described my mood.

It was gloomy.

I had a couple of calls done last week. No calls until I board the plane to Kota Kinabalu and was looking forward to a bit of sunshine this weekend, maybe a quick drive to the park with the boys, drone on tow.

But the outlook not looking great. Praying the afternoon sun might come out and play. And wash the blues away. Happy weekend all!‎
