Slowing Down

Should everything goes according to plan, we should be checking into our hotel in Singapore by this time next week. A welcomed break and everything so far had been put into place. Passport renewed and all.

My task this morning was to sort out the admissions during the weekend - and there were a few of those. The welcomed news was, there was no patient turning up to my clinic at Park City. That meant I could take my time and get breakfast for the boys and Puan Anita. I was at the apartment by 11, enjoying my brunch. Any thought of doing anything productive soon evaporated when I spent the next hour going through my iTunes playlist and pruning them …

Where are my A-Ha albums?Anita and the boys had to return to Gombak during lunch as the boys had their Quran class later in the evening. Afternoon clinic, and then more ward work. Hopefully I could get a good night sleep tonight - it had been interrupted with calls in the last couple of nights.

Last Day and a Half

The weekend passed me by super fast. On call on Friday, hence I was floating on the clouds all Saturday. But not at home resting though. I was at Saujana Hotel in Ara Damansara attending a workshop by Ramsay Healthcare about steering the organisation in the coming years.

At the workshop went on all Sunday, while I was still doing rounds and covering the ward all day.

The first activity on Saturday afternoon was to build something from Lego bricks. I had Google to tell me what to do ...Coffee fuelled Luckily the workshop venue was only 10 minutes away from SJMC.

The workshop was a heated affair at times and we got plenty of thoughts across over the couple of days. Skepticism still ruled as we left the event yesterday afternoon with the Doctors crossing their fingers hoping that their plights would not fall into deaf ear, appreciating that the management may have their hands tied in terms of ceding on the points agreed during the workshop.

Hopefully not our "action only" plan.But a couple of days taken away from my weekend was a drag though. And I would be on call again next weekend. Luckily Anita and the boys had already moved to the apartment as the school holidays approaching, saving me from the 3 day drives across the hospitals on Monday and Wednesday.

Time to get ready for work then. Happy Monday.

Excruciating

It had been a long morning and as the afternoon wore on, the heaven opened. And as usual, Friday afternoon rain spelled heavy traffic.

I've been stuck for the last 30 minutes, hardly making any progress. And the rain looked to continue. That would also spoil our weekly Friday Evening outing.

Praying that the traffic smoothed out in the coming few minutes.... Happy weekend all!

BLS Weekend

Every couple of years, I had to attend a refresher course on Basic Life Support and pass a quiz at the end of it to collect a certificate. This time it would be this weekend. Saturday afternoon after clinic to be exact.

At least I didn't have to attend the full course again - over three days. I just needed to turn up on the afternoon, sit for a short lecture for revision and then exam. Hopefully it would be as straight forward as that.

But, before that, I had to do a bit of reading. Oh dear ...

Hassled

I must've woken up on the wrong side of the bed as I was rather hassled all morning driving in. Though I sorted out my rounds pretty early, I then realized that I left my wallet at home. Anita called me soon after to confirm that. Luckily I had some packed breakfast brought in.

So, no lunch from the looks of things. Luckily I a lunch meeting which should include lunch. Quick drive to Park City this morning before returning for the afternoon clinic here. I tip of that, I would have a lunch meeting and another at 5 pm.

It's going to be a long day ...
