Simmering

The fever improved then got worst by the end of the day. It was 38.7 when I settled home earlier and the paracetamol, brufen and tepid sponging helped. Better now. Playing with my boys who were commenting on my wet forehead.

They kept asking me to gobble down the air badak. Tasted like normal H2O. Maybe I was still to feel it's magic. Time to hit the shower soon, and catch up on all things iPhone.

Being Driven In

It was a restless night last night. Not because I fancied the pink iPhone 5C or anything like that. I had a high fever and woke up a few times with coughing fits. Every couple of hours or so, I was up. Myalgia and headache plus all the trimmings. It got better with some vitamin C and brufen, but I had to cross the line this morning. One word. Augmentin.

Not a fab of antibiotics, but I was feeling really rough. The myalgia was so bad that I had to crawl up like a ball, and I have a full list today both at Subang and ParkCity. I can't cancel the clinics as there were plenty of stuffs needing sorting out.

Anita insisted that I use her driver for today. So, here I was, all juiced up from the morning meds - no, I skipped the antihistamines - at the back of the car blogging and catching up with the news.

Hmm! I can get used to this actually ......

Early Start

I knew it was a Sunday but I had to make an early start today. I had a ward full of patients to see from the Friday on call, as well as nee referrals to review at Ara Damansara. I was meant to see then yesterday but I was just too busy. .

So, a quick dash, and this afternoon we would be having a family lunch to celebrate Anita's birthday tomorrow. So, she would be as old as I am tomorrow!

In-house Communications

On average, I answer around 20 phone calls a day. The number could easily touch 50 on busy days. Some of the calls were not exactly important, and to try to cut down the number, I have asked my main wards to start emailing me results. It also could help in minimising confusion as instructions especially drug dosages and drug names could be spelled out very clearly.

Buy lately, the problem I had was the staff took a long time replying, or worse still did not reply back. I couldn't tell if the messages actually got through or otherwise. As some of the instructions need to be carried out immediately, I ended up picking up the phone and actually dialing through. Defeating the purpose of using emails in the first place I would've thought.

But things were improving. Hopefully the number of calls could be cut out further ....

Rain and Tennis

20 minutes to get to Jalan Duta but took double the tune to reach Subang after that. It poured but luckily I left early and the traffic was lighter than I expected. It was torrential when I finally settled in.

I pity those who set off later as I could see the Kewajipan elevated road was already full leading into the Federal Highway.

As per usual, heavy rain would mean clinic cancellation. So, let's watch tennis instead. And Nadal was absolutely destroying Robredo. They should've had a standing eight count, or better still, just stop the fight early! Maybe he's sending a message to Federer to give it up as he was knocked out by Robredo in the earlier round.
