Din Sum. Again.

After the ward round this morning which only finished just before noon, we looked for a place to eat. Anita didn't plan to cook as we were only at the apartment overnight. We didn't pack much. We had enough drinks and junk food to last a week, but nothing perishable.

The boys were only about to hit the showers when I reached the apartment, so we went to Sime Darby Convention Centre for the din sum which of course cane with a 20% staff discount.

As usual, food was great but the place was packed this afternoon. Luckily we called in before we set off to make sure there would be a table.

After the food was done, I couldn't really open my eyes anymore. Time for the afternoon nap. Before heading back to Gombak of course. When I truly knew that the weekend was over ....

Overnight in Bangsar

I had to attend a meeting on Saturday afternoon while my boys were occupied at home doing revision for their Al Manaar exam next week. I could see that they were bored. I then suggested that we pack up and spend the evening at the apartment. Just to chill out if nothing else.

Everybody was happy.

So, right after the meetings, we drove to Bangsar, first for dinner and then to apartment with the boys already in their pyjamas.

We just sat in front of the TV - Battleship was on I thought - while flipping to check the football score. It must be about 2 in the morning when we finally slept.

We could do with that from time to time actually. Quite enjoyed it. And I only had a 10 minute drive for my Sunday Morning ward round this morning. And I was in a good mood ....

Scrolling with Uncle

Uncle Razak only returned from Dubai late on Friday evening and he only saw the scrolls and plaques at the living room on the Saturday morning. And of course, he made the mistake of asking the boys about the presents and all.

That kept the boys going all morning. With all sorts of tales. Idlan especially had plenty to say while Irfan turned red every time his uncle asked about how he managed to bribe the teachers to get the prize for the "Most Polite" student. Irfan was not impressed.

The scrolls were still intact when I arrived home after work to change before going out for a meeting in the afternoon. I was sure the boys were still buzzing with all the excitement. They deserves it after all.

Badly Needed Weekend

The weekend was upon us again, even though I have clinic tomorrow morning, followed by meetings in the afternoon. Hopefully Sunday would be free. The boys and Anita had been hinting for an afternoon in the park for some fresh air. Weather permitting, we would be doing just that!

On the other hand, should it be raining, I might just explore the shopping malls and take a peek at their Xmas decorations. I was due for a photo outing of sort.

The boys still have exams next week, so it would be just a simple outing come Sunday. Next weekend would be Idlan's kenduri prior to his bersunat the week after. Then only we might just go out of town for a bit of a break.

I quite like going back to Fraser's Hill actually .....

Prize Giving

Again, no clinic this morning. But the occasion this time was the prize giving ceremony at school. Started early and despite the series of speeches, it didn’t take long for the event to get going and I was already back at the hospital for my rounds by 10 in the morning.

This time around, I brought my mother along. She never been to see Idlan and Irfan collect their prizes before. So, the first order of business for me was to pick up Mum from Bukit Antarabangsa. The traffic was a breeze though, so we reached the school earlier, just as the boys were assembling.

Irfan was the first to pick up the prize, as he was in Year One. He got a plaque and a few rolls of certificate for being highest in subjects. Idlan's turn came a bit later, in Year Three. He also got a plaque and certificates. They then returned later as Irfan got the prize for "Most Polite Student". I was not sure how much Irfan pay his teacher to get that one!

All lined up on the tableThe School Principle giving her speechI left right after the prize giving, while Anita went to see the teachers to pick up the report cards before lunch. Our driver sent our parents home by then as it was quite a long wait. There were cultural shows after the prize giving, for which both of my boys were not involved in. I left well before that.

Both of the boys were still buzzing with excitement after picking up their prizes, and had already called be a couple of times. No doubt they would be asking for toys soon. But, they still have their Al Manaar exam this afternoon ….
