Trying This Out!

As expected, I would start the day with a sore throat. But with my reflux playing up, it had been a rather rough night. I hard had much rest, and decided to get out of bed by 5 am, took my paracetamol, read some blogs and have an early start. I was at the hospital just after 7, and heavy traffic was the last thing I needed.

The sore throat got a bit better after some fluids, but, by the time I was done with the rounds, it played up again. Now, I have no voice. I might just lay low during the afternoon clinic.

According to my ENT colleague, the dispersible paracetamol works wonder with sore throat. I picked up a few from the pharmacy, and my try when I'm due for more medications later on in the morning. I haven't started coughing as yet, so, I decided against wearing a mask. That would be attracting too much attention I think.

The Eyebags Are Gone

After first Irfan, then Idlan, now Puan Anita and I started having sore throat. I had a bit of a temperature earlier today, which settled after some paracetamol. The sore throat is still bothering me though, and I suspect, it would be worst tomorrow morning when I wake up. Hopefully, I could muster some energy for our weekend break to A Famosa as the boys were really looking forward to it.

As for Idlan, he is doing much better, although he skipped school again today. The eyebags were gone, and so was the coughing. He should be fine for his class tomorrow. A quick look at my list, my clinic should be light, although I had a few inpatients lined up. Should be manageable even with a slight cold.

Not So Early

After sorting out my clinic and ward patient early this afternoon, I prepared to head home at just after 4 to check on Idlan. A quick look at the exit, and I knew I would be delayed. I then took my time, got a drink and check on some results before setting off. The traffic eased off soon after, but while it lasted, it was pretty bad.

Right round the corner is the private school, Sri KL. the students ended their school hour just after 3, and the whole place would be packed during that time. Traffic both in and out of SDMC would be bad while the students cleared the place. Time to avoid the area at that time.

Powernap

After my early lunch, I spend the afternoon at the apartment until Zohor, before returning to the hospital for my afternoon clinic. I managed a 30 minutes power nap which made plenty of difference, although the 15 minutes after waking up was rather vague.

It was pretty muggy weather outside, a bit on the overcast. It looked like it is going to rain later. Since my patient load is not to bad for the afternoon, I might be able to head home early.

Sleepy Morning

I pressed on with starting my rounds early and left home almost after getting Idlan settled in after the trip to Casualty. After the rounds were done, I dropped by my favorite haunt in Bangsar for an early lunch.

Anita said that Idlan was sleeping at home. No more coughing. The antihistamine certainly helped. The swelling on the face was much better as well.

After lunch, I'll probably spend a couple of hours at the apartment doing some reading before the afternoon clinic. Hopefully, Idlan would be back to his usual self by the evening when I reach home.
