New Toll Arrangement

The queue at the toll booth on my way to work yesterday was longer than usual. The fact that I had a couple of clinic s that day - the morning at Park City and the afternoon back in Subang - meant that I was in a slight rush in the morning.

It turned out that the NPE - New Pantai Expressway - had gotten rid of cash paying booth. All the road user had to use electronic payment - Touch and Go - to pass through. Those who hasn't, would have to purchase them at some of the lanes. Hence the long queue.

I didn't have any problem since I had always been using the SmarTag. But I was caught in the wait.

The situation got a bit better this morning, probably because everybody had wise update to the fact. The added advantage for such system was the top-up booth were opened 24 hours. Made the job of topping-up the card that much easier.

Midnight Road Block

After a long day, and night, I was making my way back home for bed when I spotted a queue in front of me. It was 1 am and the Police decided to have a roadblock in the middle of the highway!

I understood policing and all, but 1 am on a Friday night? Even the crooks would be in the pub having a good time at this ungodly hour. It took an extra half an hour to reach home and the moment I got into the car park, the phone rang again. Luckily I didn't have to return. Imagine if it was the Resus room or the labour ward meaning that I had to rush back. Can I get to the front of the queue if there was a life needed saving?

Well, something I would have to ponder while I enjoy this Sunday morning sunshine. Good weekend all!

Roadblocks!

It would be the first time that I would be staying in the apartment while on call. So, after sorting out my admissions, I left the hospital just after midnight. I decided to take the NPE hoping that it would be nice and quite and I would be back home in no time.

Unfortunately, there were a couple of major road blocks along the way. The first one was just after the turning into Kewajipan, towards Sunway Pyramid. The second was just after the NPE first toll from Sunway towards Bangsar. In the end, it took me about 30 minutes to get into the apartment. Not impressed!

So, if I were to be called out again, it looked like I would be taking the Federal Highway instead. Hopefully that would be a lot smoother. Minus the toll!
