Glorious Monday Morning

I must say that I was stunned when I was heading out to send Idlan off to his school bus this morning. Such a glorious sunrise, and in snapped this from my balcony.

I could almost make out Venus right in the Centre of the frame. After my shower and breakfast, the light just kept on getting better. I couldn't resist it but to start snapping around the apartment.

A great way to start the week I thought. The ward round could wait that just a bit longer ...

Enjoying the Morning Sun

My line of work usually meant an early start. Sometimes even on Sundays. But lately I noticed that the morning sunshine had been glorious. In fact the whole morning had been great weather wise. And I had to slog on to work.

I decided to take a break and went to work late one morning - I don't have morning clinics on Thursday - and enjoyed the scenery. Albeit from the apartment.

That extra few minutes calmed down the shutterbugs on my fingers and last night I was able to look through the snaps. How I wished that every morning was just as glorious ....

Happy Sunday Morning all ....

Scorching

The past week had been a hot one. I fact, I couldn't remember when it last rained since Chinese New Year. Everyone felt it. It had been hot everywhere. I definitely felt it yesterday when I took the camera out to the Bird Park and Orchid Garden. Those places were hit hard, and I would be writing about it separately.

Today, I had to drive across town for the clinic at Park City, and oh boy, did I feel the heat? The problem was, I suspect that I may have some problem with the air conditioning in my car. It was not as cool as usual. Getting stuck in the middle of traffic would be scorchingly uncomfortable.

Good thing that my ward was notoriously cold. It helped balanced things out.

That didn't stop some of the Caucasians doing some sunbathing at my apartment's pool though ...

Cleared Up by the Afternoon

I was dreading the drive home after the heavy rain in the morning. It slowed down during Friday Prayers, but the sky was still dark. Even my friend who was in the city centre during prayer time was dreading for the worst and posted photos of high water level on Sungai Kelang. I imagined that should it rained further in the day, there would be more flooding.

But the cloud became thinner and sun was out by early afternoon. That took plenty of the heat we were experiencing away, and the drive home was a breeze.

But rather than going out tonight we decided to stay in. I was still not feeling 100% and could do with a bit of a rest. A quiet night in would be great. Let's see what was Puan Anita cooking......

Have I gone to the Dark Side?

I spend the whole of yesterday trying to install XP on my MacBook Pro, finally succeeding by using Sun's VirtualBox. It worked a treat. No data loss and was able to get SPSS installed on it. Since I have gone that far, I decided to try Windows 7. First of all, I need to download the 2.4 GB data for the install disc. It failed to do so from my Streamyx. It kept being disconnected. The maximum speed for download was only 1Mb/s. It will take 6 hours to download the whole stuff while praying that the connection doesn't stall.

Check out the speed of the download. About 2 and half times faster than good old Streamyx. I turned the E71 into a base station connected to Celcom Broadband, and just use wifi connection to download.

Microsoft also did not help matters by insisting that we use a Javascript-based download manager to get the stuff downloaded through, and the script for obvious reasons were disabled on Safari. Luckily Firefox worked OK. I decided to use my E71 as a modem instead and haul down the data. It stalled when I try to download it straight from Microsoft's website. I searched the net and stumbled upon this. What I did was acquire a product key from Microsoft and download the program from this site with the help of Speed Download.

After another 30 minutes of installation and updating, everything was up and running. I'll let you know how everything works up.
