Rough Night

I must have been sleeping too much while away in Kuala Kangsar. Last night, it was rough. My reflux played up, and I kept getting up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep. I finally got out of bed and started watching TV.

Luckily it didn't look like a busy day today, although I had to go into time for some business with the bank. Would do that straight after my clinic in Park City. Might catch lunch in town as well.

A New Week

Last week was a blur. The whole week. It had been busy and it didn't stop until over the weekend. Today was the first day that I could really catch a breather. It had been busy one way or the other, but luckily we were spending time at the apartment rather than back in Gombak.

We finally moved back to the house yesterday, the boys were in school and Anita had a free afternoon.

It would be tax week. I just need to write some cheque and file some documents before then. At least Thursday would be a day off. Labour Day.

No Signals

Trying times this morning when I was doing my clinic over at Park City and the Celcom signals kept coming in and out. As a result, I had tons of missed calls. Realising it, I asked the operator to connect straight to the clinic landline.

Clearly it had made an already stressful weekend even more so. A couple of ICU transfers did not lighten my mood at all. And then the prospect of moving back to Gombak. Next call would be on Wednesday ...

Guess I'd better take things easy and get some rest tonight and tomorrow. Onwards with the clinic!!!!

The Talks

So, the buzz around was that the new fee schedule for private doctors would be implemented soon. Of course, there was backlash from the public as expected. After all, it was trying times after all economy wise. I could fully understand their sentiment. But for the likes of myself and my colleagues, it was a long-awaited change and something of a necessity as practising medicine became more challenging.

Last week, we had a couple of rounds of briefing on the very matter. It got heated at times. Hopefully, all the kinks would be ironed out soon.

Some of the fees had already been changed to good effect. Some still awaiting clarification and were put on hold.

The next few weeks would be interesting ...

What's That?

That was really one big tablet. It was mainly salt replacement. Luckily you don't have to swallow it whole. It dissolves in water, and you drink it then.

Imagine having to gobble down the whole tablet ...
