Glorious Monday Morning

I must say that I was stunned when I was heading out to send Idlan off to his school bus this morning. Such a glorious sunrise, and in snapped this from my balcony.

I could almost make out Venus right in the Centre of the frame. After my shower and breakfast, the light just kept on getting better. I couldn't resist it but to start snapping around the apartment.

A great way to start the week I thought. The ward round could wait that just a bit longer ...

Golden End

I decided to stay home today and get ready for the call tomorrow. The weather was nice and I had left the hospital earlier than usual today.

Thursday usually meant my no clinic day. I usually use the time to give talks or have meetings. Instead today, there was nothing lined up. I was already at home by 5, with a quick stop in Bangsar to have a look at the recently reopened Czip Lee.

We were done by 6. And undecided to have a session in the gym. A 3km jog on the treadmill was all I could muster before heading up for shower and Maghrib.

But the sunset had a nice shimmer to it this evening. Gorgeous light. And a gorgeous way to end the day.

The Ainuls Coming for Lunch

It's Malaysia Day, a public holiday. And it was a Friday which meant that there would be a long weekend up ahead. On call the next day though.

Anita getting things preparedThere were mooncakes of courseThey arrived just after noon and we went straight to the mosque before returning for lunch. Itul was already there when Syahril and I returned just in time for food.

And Anita cooked her delicious soto. It was a hit.

By the time we were done, it was too late for the pool already and the Ainuls had a dinner plan that night.

The Orange Sofa

I thought I upload this photo of me on the newly installed orange sofa at the main entrance of my apartment. I was waiting for a friend to come and pick up a lens he wanted to use during Raya. While waiting, I thought I would just take the Theta out and see what happened.

A quick snap and that was it. Mid Valley next!

Lights are Up

We were entering the last 10 days of Ramadhan and it was about time that we get the lights we bought last month out of the box. It took a while to untangle the wires and after a few tries, Anita was finally happy with the setup.

We hung them along the railings of the verandah in our apartment and I was sure people driving down Bukit Pantai would be able to see them. Not too sure if they were still in fashion but when I was young, there must be lights towards the end of Ramadhan. My kampung in Kepala Batas would be filled with kerosene lamps and rumbles of fireworks could be heard for miles. The children would be roaming free during and after the Tarawikh prayers. Those were the days!

My only concern with the lights would be the rain. The wires looked shielded and the bulbs were all LED. Best to unplug them from the mains every night as not to cause any short circuit, but they looked nice when they were on.

Certainly made you excited about the coming Raya. Below is a short YouTube video of the lights.
