CNY at Pavilion

It was almost a tradition. At least for me. I would have to check out the decorations at Pavilion every time Chinese New Year festivities came. Who could forget the four-storie dragon adorning the main foyer from a few years back?

This year, being the year of the horse, the celebration was less grand. But as decorations go, it was pretty elaborate at Pavilion.

Since they were still in the process of turning around the Xmas decor, the main foyer were still closed. They seemed to have retained the ride from the Xmas decorations, which made perfect sense actually. They had lantern sprouting down entrance as well as around the famous lotus fountain.

I actually went to Pavilion that afternoon to have a look around. Luckily I brought my camera with me and managed to snap away. Might as well, as I wasn't sure if in could return before the CNY festivities end.

Pavilion Xmas 2013

I think Pavilion had upped their game this time again. After a couple of lame showings on the instore decorations department, this year's Xmas effort left me impressed.

Last weekend, I made my monthly walk around Bukit Bintang to settle bills, run errands and just a general walkabout. I parked my car at KLCC and walked across the bridge towards Pavilion. There was not much going on at Suria at the time, but it soon changed the moment I entered Pavilion.

There was a small fanfare feeling to the main foyer. There was the customary Santa sled and Xmas tree. There was also a merry-go-rounds and a special stage. And it didn't stop there.

There was another tree by the main entrance from Bukit Bintang. The famous fountain also had some decorations put up in the surrounding area. It was a shame that there were too much construction going around the area, making the walk seemed less festive.

As for the mascot, one could be easily confuse it with Doraemon.

I continue my walk towards Bukit Bintang with a quick stop at Fahrenheit 88. There were decorations there as well. More on that later ...

Deepavali at Pavilion

After attending the wedding this afternoon, I had a few hours of free time to venture into town. I also had some bills to settle as well as banking in some cheques. Anita had her hands full with the boys and their revision, so I went out alone.

As usual, I parked at KLCC and walked across the bridge towards Pavilion and onwards towards Bukit Bintang and Low Yat.

Weather today was warm but not sunny. Traffic was also lighter than expected, the mall was also less packed but the colours were definitely there with Deepavali next weekend.

The main foyer at Pavilion was not transformed for the festivities - but I was sure it would soon for Xmas. The entrance though had some pretty decorations.

Quite enjoyed the walk to wards Fahrenheit. I though I snap a few photos at the main entrance for keeps.

More Walkies

Just after the ward round last Sunday morning, I set off to Low Yat to get hold of a new cover for my Nexus 7 tablet. The old one was getting rugged and the front film cover needed replacing after almost a year.

It seemed that the Low Yat stopover was not the main highlight but rather the nice weather that afternoon. So, with the new iPhone, I set about getting more snaps.

I thought I was getting the hang of the limitations and was now starting to get better photographs. The nice sunny weather helped as well .....

Flag at the Fountain

Went to Pavilion for a short hop to settle some bills and decided to take a peek around. The fountain had the Jalur Gemilang all around it and in the breeze, it was quite a spectacle. Real cute.

I also noticed the replica flag similar to the one from a couple of years ago. But this time it was hidden by the entrance.

This looks rather familiar ......Would have loved to hang around a bit longer but I had a few engagements today. And by engagements I meant food!

Happy Merdeka.
