Around the Corner

Father's Day would be coming in another couple of weeks time. It would be the first weekend after Ramadhan starts.

I was dropping hint that we should get an iftar night out on the evening. Hopefully somebody would be listening.

The main lobby at Bangsar Village todayBangsar Village had started decorating for that. Idlan was asking me earlier, why was is always that sailboats were used as symbol of Father's Day celebrations? I really got no answer to that one. Maybe it had something to do with sailors?

Saturday

Heavy rain this morning and the journey to work was made interesting with me having to see a patient at Park City as well. I decided to head to Park City first before going over to Subang to start clinic there.

Luckily being Saturday, traffic was very light, but slow due to the wet road. It also meant that the turn out at the clinic was lower than expected. Managed to finish work before 1 pm.

I initially planned to attend a wedding during lunch but it started to rain again. I didn't manage to get out of Subang before the traffic built up. Decided to turn back and had some lunch in Bangsar before heading home.

Saturday Outing

Idlan wanted to try some sports at school. He had started playing badminton, and a few of his friends wanted to play football and basketball later in the week. He was clearly into it and wanted me to get me a football.

So, off we went for a bit of shopping. He ended up getting himself the balls and a brand new sneakers. And the afternoon was topped off with a spot of hot chocolate at his favourite cafe. Unfortunately no practice for today as it was raining heavily by early evening.

Expresso at ExpressoLab

After our return from Lumut, we caught up again with Dina and her family plus other friend to celebrate her birthday. It seemed that she was fond of Great Eastern Mall as again she came all the way across town, similar to when she had the party for Moez's birthday.

The venue for the afternoon meetup was a cafe on the first floor of the mall, called ExpressoLab. Yes, they did serve expresso there. But I don't take strong stuff in the afternoon, so it was iced mocha for me instead.

They also serve light snack and lunch. Limited number of items but they served them well. Anita was well impressed with her toasted sandwiches and my pasta was quite nice too. Or maybe because we were hungry at the time.

Nice ambiance and the price was very reasonable. Away from the at times snobbish Alexis crowd. Well worth a stop.

Hot Saturday Afternoon

Yesterday, while waiting for another wedding, Puan Anita and I decided to go to KLCC to do some shopping and some chores. While I walked across towards Bukit Bintang to pay my credit card bills, Anita hang around at KLCC.

And the weather was really hot. It was balmy. I had to stop a couple of times for fluids, it was that bad.

The hot weather was usually a welcomed sight for photographers, but not when it was a shot as yesterday. So, it was all work, and not much photography. ‎
