Allan's Water

This place was closed for renovations when we were here last December and it had am certainly received an uplift. There were new facilities built and the place looked spruced up compared to the last time we were there in 2012. It was basically a reservoir on top nod the hill which stored fresh water for the town. It was big enough for water activities and located about 10 minutes up hill from the town center.

We spend about 30 minutes hanging around there, feeding the fish and enjoying the fresh mountain air.

There were kayaks and pedal board for those interested as well as bumper balls as well. But Anita didn't approve of those...

Next to the lake was a small potting farm, which sold vegetables and flowers. Spend another few minutes there, taking photos of the nice flowers on display. The strawberries were off season when we visit and in was sure that would be a future attraction.

Nice time to spend the late afternoon before heading into town for early dinner. There was also a small tuck shop there for drinks and snack.

CNY Decorations at BTS

As one of the premier shopping destination in town, CNY decorations had always been a staple for Berjaya Times Square. For me personally, the place seemed out of the way to where I normally ventured.

As I had a couple of free hours, I thought I walked over there to see what was going on. It turned out that the made a good effort although not exactly original. It looked very similar to the decorations at NU Sentral back in 2015. That featured cartoon figurines - the one in Central were multiracial - and old school shops.

Maybe it was just coincidence. Good effort though, and I was sure it would attract a lot of visitors during the weekend. Luckily it was weekday and I was able to walk around without much hassle ...

Flying over The Clocktower

I finally got my wish. After the morning trip into town was fogged over, I was happy that the clouds parted when I went there again - with Anita this time after our trekking at Bishop's Trail.

Then came the warning that I was running out of memory space.

Straight from the topPanning towards the way to SmokehouseBut that was after I managed to hover around the famous clock tower a few times. With the sun coming out and plenty of people mingling about, it was quite a spectacle. Good times.

A Quick Shake-up

I had been hearing about this famous outlet in Melaka for some time. Coconut shake. Basically blended coconut juice, in thick sweat concoction, had many imitations even in KL. The best one I was told was from Pantai Klebang in Melaka.

We had a quick look on the internet and keyed in the destination onto our phone and just followed the direction. Conveniently it was halfway to our old school in Kem Terendak, about 30 minutes from Bandar Melaka. The name of the outlet? “klebangoriginal” coconut shake.

This way ...Ample parking space

We arrived there just after the lunch crowd had left. Therefore finding a parking spot and the restaurant seat were easy. Apart form the shakes, they had some kueh and nasi lemak which were gorgeous as well.

The shake was actually better than we had in the past. Yes, we didn’t experience that many. Apparently there were more authentic stalls lining Pantai Klebeng that served the same formula, but allegedly more original. But in terms of convenience, and getting everything in one package, you can’t do worse than coming here. And the price was reasonable as well.

Another Stretch

They don’t come in easy and I was greeted with the start of my stretch of calls this morning with a referral of all referrals. A dengue patient in shock!

Straight to ICU. And into the scheme of things.

For the coming weeks, I would be at it again. Something like 5 calls in 2 plus weeks. And I planned to take a few days off right around Thaipusam - which happened to be on Irfan’s birthday! Some relief time planned ahead.

But in the meantime, it would be back to the mean calls .... Bring it on!!!!!
