At Mid Valley

After the grocery shopping was done, it was time to explore Mid Valley and their decorations. Anita needed to do some shopping and I was able to explore the place alone. With my Theta on tow, it was 360 degree snaps galore!

The main foyer was decorated with models of kampung houses. There was a stage there with some musician playing Raya songs later in the afternoon.

Over at Gardens, there was a school choir with their angklung - a traditional Chinese/Malay fusion musical instrument - singing away. Nice and festive.

Surprisingly, I did not get anything myself, leaving that for after Raya to tie in with my birthday. But I enjoyed the spectacle at the place that sunny Sunday afternoon as people went about their business. No coffee for me to sip as it was still Ramadhan.

Rambut Raya

It was just a couple of days before Raya and the boys still needed their haircut. Best to leave them until late so they won't grow back too long during the holidays. As usual, it was a quick drive to Bangsar Village to have a trim with Uncle Truno. And that included me.

All done within an hour, and everybody went home happy.

Raya Groceries

There would not be Raya without the rush for grocery shopping a few days before. We did our bit at Mid Valley on the Sunday before Raya, and luckily we were early and were able to secure a parking slot right near the entrance. By the time we were done, the place was already jam packed.

The AEON at Mid Valley was undergoing renovation which made the shopping experience less than ideal. We ended up having to shop at two places - meaning two queues at the cashiers. Not fun. But being AEON, you could almost guarantee that you would be able to get everything under one roof, and that was what happened.

An hour and a half and we were out of there, just needing to ferry the stuffs over to Gombak ....

The Tail End

It was coming to the end of Ramadhan, and some of the city dwellers had started their journey back to kampung. This was certainly helped by the fact that Raya would be in the middle of the week, and the school would be closed the whole week. People can travel from one weekend to the next and the weekend had started.

Most of the stalls at pasar Ramadhan had started to close and we were already making plans to return to Gombak, buying groceries and started decorating. Anita had finalised her menu for Raya day itself as a few of our friends had planned to come.

Happy Sunday Morning

It certainly been a gorgeous morning, and although I was on call and had started receiving admission before starting my morning round, the beauty of the morning was not lost.

Things went smoothly this morning, with everybody in a good mood. Idlan was at home already starting his tuition while Anita getting ready for open house at her friend's place. I would be at the apartment waiting for admission and would be returning to the hospital after lunch. For the meantime, I might as well enjoy the morning sun. It was a shame that I was on call, because otherwise I would have been out with my drone ....
