Work Started

The evaluation of the amount of work needed doing on the apartment had already started yesterday and the real work would start by the middle of next week. More on that by the start of the week when the insurers come over with all the forms for us to fill.

Luckily, the work would not disrupt water supply to the rest of the apartment. And the boys and I would be staying until Monday. School would only open on Tuesday.

Leaking!

The boys were having their school break this week, and after the cancelled trip to Lumut, we decided to spend some time at the apartment instead. Or at least the weekend.

So, slowly we were populating the place, making it homey but after that, we discovered a leak. Hmmm! Looked like there would be a lot of fixing for the weekend by the developers. The piping on the shower in the master bedroom sprung a leak, and water seeped into the flooring and tiles. Not good.

More on that later as we were expecting the plumber to drop by tomorrow. Luckily we did not have to put up the bill ....

Taking Shape

I had a quick stop at the apartment just now prior to Jumaat Prayers. It had been a while that since I was at the apartment during day light. And today was especially sunny. It looked like the new building at Pantai Hospital next door was taking shape nicely. Traffic going in and out had been terrible for the last couple of months. Hopefully things would improve after that ….

Post-call Monday

Post-take days were always more tiring than the actual on call days. Add to that the phone calls which would probably interrupt your evening about the patients in the ward. I tended to let my schedule be empty form the days after the calls.

And last night was a busy one. I managed to get the post-call round sorted out early, but still I had to cancel my clinic at ParkCity. I was too tired to make the trio across town. Anita also came to the hospital to see one of my colleagues about her fever. Test results excluded dengue, but she had to be put on antibiotics for her cough and swollen tonsils. So, we hung around for lunch before she left to pick up the boys from school.

I then took a short nap at the Doctor's mess while waiting for the afternoon clinic. Luckily, there wasn't too many patients. This was followed by a long ward round before I finally managed to leave for home in time for the United game after Maghrib. My mood didn't get better with the lethargic United display. Deservedly, we were knocked out .......

I was just been woken up by a phone call from the wards, and since then found it difficult to drift off back to sleep. Tomorrow would be my packing day for the trip to Kyoto on Wednesday night. Better get some rest ......

Printer Ahoy

After the scouting yesterday, I returned to Low Yat, this time to buy the network printer which I eyed yesterday. I needed somebody to drive the MPV as I would need help with the 32 kg printer. Anita actually finalised the purchased as I actually short-listed a couple of units. She preferred the Canon unit as it was fully wireless. No cable needed, well, at least that was what it was claimed.

Low Yat was really packed on the Sunday afternoon, complete with a long queue at the lift, and at the front drive where we load up the MPV. Off we went straight after to the apartment to deposit the printer on the desk of my study. Hard work, but hopefully it would be worth it ......
