Bangsar Stopover

With the nice weather and me having to stop by the bank, I couldn't help but to make a quick stop in Bangsar while having a quick lunch enjoying the sun. I was on my way from my clinic at Park City to Subang anyway.

It was a shame that I had a 1pm meeting. The fact that I was on call today also did not make me feel better. But then again, a 20 minutes stop wouldn't hurt.

Quick stop for brunch at PappaRichThis should do nicelyBack into the sunFinally, bank stuff was done. Lunch was done. Time to drive back to the hospital.

That Magic Spot

I had some down time this afternoon. So, I took Anita to do her shopping and spent some time at my favourite spot. Specifically it was the Starbucks at Bangsar Village.

Latte time .... while going through some stuffAnita was done with her shoppingI made plenty of important decisions there along the years. Decided against doing my PhD. Decision about leaving UM for private practice. Nothing profound there today. Just a quick cup of coffee and enjoying watching people passing by while preparing for a couple of upcoming talks I have by the end of the month.

Friday Prayers

It was often that I get to bring my body kit for Friday Prayers. Labour Day this year fell on a Friday, and both of them were dressed up after breakfast waiting for me to pick them up after the ward round. Anita became the driver.

Good thing that the mosque in Bangsar was air-conditioned and the weather was superb. We came early and got a nice place and Irfan couldn't stop asking question even when the Khatib was reciting the Khutbah. He was so excited.

Then we went straight for lunch right across at Bangsar Village. A day we'll spent until I got a call to go to the hospital to sort a case out.

Cake at Jaslyn's

I had to do some errands around Bangsar Village after work on Friday, and after that was done we went straight for a spot of tea. Walking back from the bank, we passed by a cute little cafe called Jaslyn Cakes along Jalan Telawi.

Just a small little shop, mainly selling cakes and coffee as the name suggested. Small seating area but cosy enough.

Not many seats inside

Not many items on the menu, variety of coffee but when it came to food, only what was on the counter was available.

The tea was served in nice little teapots. And the cake was nice enough. But to be honest, it wasn't as nice as I was hoping for. Pretty basic and the price - more than RM30 for a pot of tea, a cup of latte and a slice of cake, it was certainly excessive. I could understand it if the coffee blew my mind, but not this time.

Not coming to visit anytime soon unfortunately. ‎

Tutup Kedai

I have always had a love-hate relationship - mostly hate - against Ben restaurant chain. Their food was never the best, but the attitude of their staffs which got to me. Arrogant would be an understatement. As if they were a bunch of connersier.

After a couple of bad experiences, I tended to stay away from them. It didn't make much difference as they were full most of the time.

What I finally got ... some really nice meet land, with tons of ajinomoto I was sureIndeed ....So, when I went to Bangsar Village earlier - not to Ben's but to Mahbub instead, I was surprised to see the branch there had packed up. Maybe it had something to do with GST but I very much doubted that. They still have plenty of branches around town. Anyhow, I still felt the branch at Bangsar Village was somewhat iconic and it would be missed. ‎In fact, they have an outlet on the other side of Bangsar Village on the same floor, with a slightly different concept ...
