Pavilion Again

Idlan has his Quran class today, so I returned to Gombak for Iftar today to join the rest of the family. As I was on call yesterday and due to lack of sleep, I ended up sleeping in front of the TV as soon as I reached home. I was woken up in time for Maghrib, and groggily I went upstairs for food. It was one of those meal where you couldn't remember exactly what you've eaten. I was better after the shower.

So, on the way back to the apartment, we decided to take a tour to Pavilion as I had to settle my credit card bills. Peckish since I hardly eaten during iftar, I gobbled down some sandwich, and then with the boys had a nightcap at Godiva. Nice rich, fattening chocolate!

More topping upAfter the meal, Anita did some shopping, and I was left with my camera to explore the Raya decorations around Pavilion. The theme was not very clear, but the had plenty of way - traditional Malay kite - hanging around. Plenty of stalls around the main foyer, selling cookies mainly, but nothing much else to talk about.

The main foyer seemed to have been taken over by wauA big one hanging from the ceiling

The area around Bukit Bintang and the fountain was still buzzing at that hour. There were plenty of foreigners, quite sizeable from the Middle East. And the traffic was still packed even close to 10 pm.

Late Night Take Out

On the way back to the apartment, I suddenly felt peckish, and this being Ramadhan, I thought I better get something to eat.

A quick detour to Bangsar, and the next thing I knew, I was parked in front of the 24 hour McDonald's outlet. A Fillet-o-Fish to take out then ….

Jungle Gym, BSC

On the fourth floor of Bangsar Shopping Center, tucked away from the main shopping area is a play area for the kids - right next to the funky Surau I was talking about in my earlier entry. The play gym there was relatively small, but full of activities.

Adults were allowed in to accompany their children, and on the whole, the place was very safe. My boys enjoyed it, more than the gyms in Plaza Damas or Great Eastern Mall.

In face, just outside the gym, there was rollerblade rink, and a few restaurants for children. There we plenty of space for the parents to sit down as well. They also offer services to look after the kids should we wish to drop them there and go shopping. We had our maid along, so, we left them there. Make sure you carry socks with you, as otherwise you have to buy one when you enter. And they were not cheap .....

One Funky Surau

Most of the shopping center have got a prayer room tucked in somewhere. Today, taking the boys out to the gym, we went to Bangsar Shopping Center. After riding off my migraine attack, I went to join the boys. And around the corner on the fourth floor, from the gym was a new prayer room at the center.

I was more familiar with the one on the third floor. But the new room was much better. It was in fact brand new. Slightly smaller than previous one, but it has a sitting area with sofa just outside the prayer hall. The wudhu area was also clean and neat. Fully air conditioned and the area for the shoes were well laid out in the outside.

Night Walk

The boys have been fussing about staying at home all week now that they were on their second week of holidays. We planned to stay at the apartment next week, during my on call period. But this week, they had mostly been staying at home. And they were bored.

So, we decided to take them out to KLCC for a nice walk after berbuka. KLCC was crowded, mainly with shoppers planning for an early Raya bargain. The decorations at the foyer was already up, mainly stalls. But there was a main stage there as well. Nothing was playing tonight.

We then settled for a quick drink at Chinoz, while enjoying the water fountain at KLCC park. Cool weather tonight.

We plan for an early night tonight before waking up for sahur early to catch the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Looking forward to that.
