Scorching

I spent Monday mainly indoors. During lunch, I joined Anita at a restaurant near our apartment and at that point experienced the searing hot of the current heatwave. It was bordering on brutal.

And apparently Malaysia has yet to experience the worse of it. That was just the beginning.

I needed ice cream ....Searing hot during lunchBy late afternoon, things was almost unbearable. My clinic was done early and I finished my ward round before packing things up for home. But not before a quick stop at the mart for some ice cream.

I understood that schools in Perlis and Kedah would be closed for the next couple of days due to the weather. My boys were having their exams this week and will be having their Easter break soon. Not sure what the plan would be looking at the weather. Idlan was keen to go to Penang, but judging from the weather report, things were worse up North. Maybe Fraser's Hill may be a better bet!

Welcomed Rain

The haze had been threatening to hit KL again, and the weather had been really hot lately. Certainly much hotter than before I left for Brisbane, and the rain yesterday afternoon and today really made the difference. I can now feel the air conditioning in the apartment.

And being post-call, all the more reason to just laze out in bed with the TV on .... Let's see what was playing ....

Still Sunny

It had been a great week weather wise. But I bet that it would be cloudy and glum by tomorrow when I had the day off.

Anita had been out this morning while I myself just got back during lunchtime at the apartment not having a clinic today. I decided to finish off some presentations I have in the coming weeks before going back to the hospital later for the afternoon rounds.

We had no plans yet for those evening but as usual, the boys would prefer to stay in. Maybe we might be able to see some fireworks from the apartment later.

Saturday Indoors

Saturday. Gorgeous sunshine. That usually meant me enjoying the town, hitting a cafe or two. But not today. Duty beckons. And it had been a long one.

The day started with a longer than expected ward round which I had to interrupt as I had a full clinic. I had another round after the clinic and that was when the fun started. And it never really stopped.

Managed to catch a breather now at the Lounge catching up on Manchester United playing Stoke. Just about settling download, Stoke scored a couple of goals. It looked like the day just kept on going from bad to worse ....

Time for a nice dinner I think. To mamak we go!

Foggy Morning

I have always been fascinating by foggy mornings. It reminding me of mornings I spent trekking up the hills of Phen-y-Ghent in the Yorkshire Dales, being rewarded later with glorious view of the valleys. And also the numerous morning walks on trails leading me into waterfalls, carrying my camera around. Those were glorious mornings.

It was 17 degrees out there when I woke up this morning, and the fog still lingered when I got out of the shower. I was sure that the morning sun would soon clear it up, in time for breakfast. The boys were still fast asleep, and today would be the last full day we would be spending here.

The boys were still complaining about wifi - of the lack of it - last night, but the cold weather soon brought them to sleep. Getting ready for breakfast then .....
