A Quick Escape

After the call last night, I felt like having a quick escape from the hospital during lunch. Although it did not last long - I was called back in - it was always good to leave the hospital. And Anita joined me for an early lunch in Bangsar.

Back and forthThe traffic was not very bad and now during lunch hours, I managed to discharge a couple of patients and just waiting for the afternoon rounds while doing letters and paperwork in clinic. Hopefully I would have a quiet hour there.

Toasty Breakfast

Finally I had a morning date Anita now that our maid is back. We felt like having something French hence the quick drive to Bangsar for the much-delayed return trip to Yeast.

And it was a heavenly one.

We had the usual but with the weather outside being so sunny, we could've just hang around it was time for lunch, just having a chat and having more coffee and bread.

But alas, we had to get on with the day. After our Egg Florentine was gobbled, it was time to bit au revoir. I had to drive across town to pick up my Mum after this. She's heading to Sungai Petani on a train with my Aunt. I will be sending her off at KL Sentral.

So, off to Bukit Antarabangsa and lunch!

At Yeast Again

It was still early when I arrived at Bangsar. Way before lunchtime. The breakfast menu was still available. Anita was still on the way, and so I took the table and ordered for her.

Even at this hour, the restaurant was already half full. The late morning crowd was just about to leave while those coming for early lunch was already outside. A few "reserved" signs were put up at the table around me. I was sure that by the time lunch was in full swing, there would be queue outside.

By the time Anita arrived, the tables around us were already taken.

Yeast was fast becoming our go to place lately. The combination of cosy ambiance, great waiters and outstanding food just did it for us. It being within a walking distance from Bangsar Village also helped.

The menu was simple and there was not that many item on show. But the quality more than made up for the quantity.

Walking in Bangsar

After the maid issue was sorted, I decided to meet up with Anita for a spot of late breakfast cum early lunch in Bangsar. The destination? Yeast again. We just could not resist the breakfast there. It was just superb.

While waiting for Anita to come over, I ran a few errands at the bank while basking in the glorious sunshine. It was rare lately to see the sky so blue, while it was still breezy and cool. I just could not resist it!

Dinner at Yeast

There were a couple of misconceptions about this chic little cafe, Yeast. First of all, the name sounded Oriental and I was expecting at most, a fusion menu. Second, that it serves bread and the likes exclusively.

I was so wrong!

We had a couple of visits to the outlet, the first a couple of weeks back at Telawi, Bangsar Baru and the second, last night at their outlet at Mid Valley. The experience was nice on both counts, cosy ambiance, attentive waiters and most of all, excellent food.

Started off with some fresh breadThat nice ambiance with French music in the background. All we need was some French waiters.

The menu was straight forward and some would say limited, especially if you avoid alcohol - which was clearly spelt out in the menu. We just picked what's available - either a la carte or as part of a set - and let the food do the talking.

The food was French. So was the main chef. They were freshly cooked and coupled witht he bright decor and French music in the background, the experience was soothing. The dinner starts at 6, and on both occasion, trying to avoind the crowd, we arrived just after they were opened. And we got the best seats in the house.

We started out with fresh bread - on the house - with nice French butter, followed by my order of salads - freshly prepared. The salmon on the first visit was excuisite. I tried something different yesterday and it did not disappoint either. Anita had some French onion soup an dshe finished her bowl straigth down.

I had some pasta last night with pesto sauce, parmesan and dried tomato, with strips of chicken as garnish. To be honest, I left the chicken as I felt they wer distractions. The pasta was just perfect, and the pesto sauce wa most definitely one of the best I have tasted.

My startersThen came the pastaAnd the dessert to shareAnita had a baked chicken pastry and she refused to share! This was topped up with some whipped cream in caramel sauce which was just superb.

As you can see, I ran out of superlative describing the dinner. Definitely would return again, and I was curious as to whether they cahnge their menu daily as the items were quite limited. All in all, it was a great dinner experience and the waiter was generously tipped!
