Busy Start

The first three days of the week just flew by and now I was staring at another call tomorrow. All because I wanted to bunch together my calls prior to going to Kota Kinabalu next week for the Haematology meeting.

Hopefully I would be able to clear my patients by the time I was due to leave. In the meantime, I was looking at some suffering. And my poor boys had been at home all week rather than away since my MPV broke down. It was finally our of the workshop yesterday.

I planned to take the boys out tonight to visit their cousins in Kajang. I was keen to go and see my Mum. I haven't seen her since her return from Perth.

First of all, let enjoy some coffee at the lounge before a lunchtime meeting shortly. ‎

Slow Morning

Since cutting down my visits to Park City, my clinics tended to be busier. But this morning for some reason, it was quiet with a patient coming a bit late.

I ended up doing some reading of articles and preparing some slides for a talk tomorrow. And to a certain extent enjoying the bright sun by having a prolonged breakfast at the cafeteria.

Quick stop at the Doctor's LoungePlanning ahead for the rest of the weekBack to the clinic room and still no sign of the patient while kept getting phone calls from Subang of patients turning up early for the afternoon procedure.

Looks like having to rush back to Subang right after the next patient turn up, sort the patient in Day Care before a quick lunch and the afternoon clinic.

My new clinic room at Park City now comes with a windowAnita had been occupied with the boy's exams this week and didn't have much time for outings. Maybe, we would be going for dinners and a bit of shopping this weekend when the exams were done. ‎

The GST is Here

It looked like everything at the hospital had been geared up towards the GST implementation. It was not without apprehension judging by the number of times the Customs Department had been changing their kind as far as Doctor's GST status was concerned.

Our main fear was the public perception as we were now obliged to collect GST from them without the actual GST phrase appearing on their receipt. Devious to be quite honest but that was the directive. The public then would be able to asked for a more detailed bill with the GST clearly stated should they wish.

The law was pretty strict as far as the collection was concerned. And because of this, I had to agree with the hospital system of invoicing. They would handle the paperwork and the collection - plus most importantly the public outcry and complaints when it came to that. I don't want to spend the time explaining to the patients about their charges.

So, the big change started later at midnight. Hoping that there won't be any glitch. ‎

It had been Quiet

Touch wood. It had been civilised thus far as my call went. A few admissions earlier and I think I might be able to catch some sleep and get on with work tomorrow. Hopefully there won't be many interruptions tonight.

I have a clinic at Park City tomorrow morning, followed by another in Subang in the afternoon. And the clinic in had been hectic lately.

As for tonight, while waiting for calls, I decided to update some of my website. I might get grumpy if I get to bed early and got woken up by a phone calls. Might as well get myself occupied.

Good night all.

Sabotage!

This happened on the evening I was due to travel to Port Dickson last month. I planned to drive my in-law's car anyway but would have to drive back to the apartment to swap.

I left the hospital late since we had a GST briefing that evening. After a quick dinner, I set off to the car. Luckily, I had a quick look around and spotted the left rear puncture. Luckily one of my colleague drove me back to the apartment and I was able to drive from there to PD after a quick shower. The plan was to sort the car out on my return after a couple of days.

A nice dentFound the nailBut no bolt to fix the spare ...After finishing my clinic on my return, I called in a local garage and they sent a couple of mechanic in. But we found out that the screws needed to bolt up the spare tyres were missing. And a replacement was not available at the shop as well. So, the mechanic had to bring the tyre back to the shop while my car was on a jack, got it patched up and returned.

The culprit? A long nail lodged into the tyre. It was a long sharp one, so patching was easy. That should buy me time before getting a replacement. I wonder where I got the nails from?
