Then on Sunday, one of Idlan's and Irfan's old classmate had a pool party for their daughter's birthday - who was born a day before Irfan. They asked if we would like to join, and we said of course!
Another friend baked a cake for us as well, so everything was pointing to a party. After ward round on Sunday, we drove to Kota Damansara for the party and stayed there the whole afternoon. Many of the boys old classmates were there and it was great fun.

The pool was too deep for Irfan - or at least that was his excuse - so decided against going into the pool. Idlan was jumping all around the place, and it was mayhem. The party was an excuse for me to try out the Alpha 7's ability with a zoom lens. and it was wicked! All together I must have snapped about 350 pics.
The weather was kind as well - overcast with some breeze before clearing up by early evening. So, it was not that hot and more importantly, there was no rain. The children had a blast in the pool first, before they cleaned themselves up for the cakes and a sing-song!
Irfan's cake was nice, but it tasted much better than it looked.

Idlan and his friends from kindyDespite not hosting a party this year, I could see that Irfan was right happy. This year, we planned to do Idlan in May. It would be before Ramadan, but we were still undecided about the venue. That would give us another couple of months to come up with the idea .....
So, all together, great party, great company and the boys had a smashing time ...
Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 8:59PM Started the day with a long ward round, then rushing straight for lunch at China Treasures to celebrate Idlan's and Mum-in-law's birthday lunch. Luckily, we spent the Saturday evening at the apartment as I was called in during dinner last night. The journey to hospital to start the day was pretty short.
Lunch was great. It was especially good when my brother-in-law paid for it, with 20% discount with me being a Sime Darby contractor. The boys especially ate plenty.
This was followed by a short drive to amid Valley Megamall for one of Idlan's classmate's birthday party. It was Laser Quest! Oh boy! The boys went berserk in the arena. Irfan did not join his brother, giving a tummy ache as an excuse.
Next was a drive to Bangsar Village to buy some games for Idlan as part of his birthday. Of course, Irfan also got one.
Back to the apartment afterward as I had plenty of paperwork to finish, before it was time for the Thomas Cup Finals. It looked like Malaysia won't be able to make it ...
We left for Gombak just after Maghrib after the boys finished their homework. Certainly a full day, and I was sure I would be knackered later tonight .... Weekend was gone!
Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 6:02AM Last weekend, we were invited to another birthday party - we would have another one coming this weekend. It was one of Irfan's classmate. The theme? Minecraft and bowling. Sounded familiar?
This classmate of his couldn't make it to Irfan's party as they were traveling out of town. But, they did get the invitation card. I was sure that he was into Minecraft as well, hence the theme was understandable.
The venue was much smaller than when we had ours, and it was also less crowded. Never the less, the boys did enjoy themselves. It was held at Tropicana Golf Resort, and it was the first time I was there.
Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 10:17PM The party was finally over and done with. And it was a memorable day for Irfan especially. Many of his friends came and they had a good day playing bowling, and eating cakes of course.
This time, we had the party at Kiara Equestrian Club. Theme was Minecraft, and the venue was the bowling alley. No need to bring your own shoes, but socks were a must!
In the end, we occupied ten lanes, seven of them for children. Of course, I got to show my skills at the end …
For the event, we catered the food from the club, while we employed a party planner for the party organiser and the party packs. We asked that the clown to not wear his normal costume as Irfan had a thing against clowns since he was young. So, he came doing his usual clowning stuff, balloon tricks and organising the games. Minus the make-up.
The food was excellent. One of Irfan’s classmate’s Mum offered to do Irfan’s cake, and it was gorgeous.
The only disappointment was the party planner, who rushed for time and a rather sub-par end product. I would not rather spoil things here, but suffice to say that we wouldn’t be doing business with them again.
Time to get into the proper shoes
... and get the proper balls
Time for cakes
And group photo
Even the lion came to play
Time for the daddies to show off their talents ...For those considering having birthday party here, I must say that it was highly recommended. The officer in-charge was very accommodating and doing business with him was a pleasure - I was referring to you Mr Syahril! Everything was delivered and more.
The children had a great time. Irfan had a smashing day. The parents had a fine time - some of them even played along. Food was great and the whole venue was comfortable. Now, off to nurse my sore arm …
