Well Rested

I woke up this morning refreshed. I dozed off at 9.30 yesterday evening, feeling tired for some reason. And there next thing I knee, it was 5 I'm the morning. Finally, I got out of bed at 6, unsurprisingly feeling good. It was the first time I had an 8 hours uninterrupted sleep for a while. I had been feeling tired in the last few weeks and personally, I've yet to get proper rest since returning from Atlanta. Even though I had the weekend off last week, I had to do the driving and had been out and about ferrying the boys to the theme park.

I thought that was rest. Obviously I was wrong. So, got to the office very early, sorted out the patients and felt good about it. Better enjoy it while it last though as I would be on call this Saturday ......

Glorious Morning

It was one of those smooth morning when the traffic was light and I was bathed in glorious sunshine. I arrived at the clinic early after sorting out the ward - managed to discharge most of my admission from the recent call.

And again, the sun was glorious. Made me sad that I had to work ….. but at least I got next week to look forward to when I had a trip planned for the boys and Anita down south ….

Three Calls

I was definitely showing my age. But to do three calls within a week and a half upon returning from the US was certainly tiring. The first call went OK since I was still riding on the adrenaline of the trip to Atlanta. But the fatigue hit me hard on the day right after my second day on call.

By the time I recovered, it was already time for another call. So, here I was, on Xmas day on a post call day attending a cousin's wedding. I then babysat my boys at my Mum's place at Bukit Antarabangsa while Anita had a couple of hours of shopping time with my sister, Julia. I was really feeling tired now .... But at least, the three calls were the ones due for me this month. My next on call day would be in more than two weeks time.

So, I was looking forward to a couple days of light clinics and rounds. I would be traveling down to Muar for another wedding after my Saturday morning clinic later this week. I really could do with some down time just with Anita and the kids. Let's drink to that then ....... And for some extra time to update my blogs.

Back into the Groove

More like struggling to get back into the groove. Starting the morning was hard when I had to snooze the alarm a couple of times and could only drag my bum off the bed at around 8 and drove to work after the rush hour subsided.

Started the clinic late but the patients were still waiting for their results then. I didn't have any inpatients to see. The admissions came later in the day. And that was sorted out as well after the clinic was done.

Next came the on call emergency admissions. I managed to sort those in time to catch some dinner in Bangsar before settling for the shower and returning to the hospital for the evening rounds. That was nice. So, now I was waiting at the Doctor's lounge before returning for the night. I really could do with some sleep. But the main thing was I was able to get through with the day's chore in one piece.

To Construct

The new tower beside my ward was really sprouting up fast. There was a delay in the starting I the construction, but once the go ahead was given, things really started moving. The worry about banging sounds were also unfounded and I found that the disruption was minimal.

Since the building was taking shape right next to my ward, there was always the worry about fungal spores. We had been lucky so far. There had been no incidents.

Looking forward to the building vein finished. And that was mainly because of the promised food stalls being planned. I need proper lunch some time.
