Bukit Nanas Canopy Walk

We had been waiting for the canopy walk to be reopened for almost a couple of years now. We went through the old route a few month back and from a chance look, we found out that the canopy was opened.

So, off we went. Anita and I, and in must say that I was impressed.

The map of the routeCome through hereCome this wayThe cool breezy weather certainly helped but the walk was well-shaded anyway. We went through the wrong was since we parked out car at KL Tower. The canopy was at least 250m long and it was quite high if you're afraid of heights. Coming down the hill was a doddle but coming back up involved at least 5 flights of stairs.

Luckily there were plenty of benches to rest. No drinks station though. We had drinks later at KL Tower.

Definitely worth a visit and the canopy walk were children friendly - although I haven't tested them with Idlan and Irfan.

Reaching the other sideThe city stayed in the background for onceThere were plenty of space for facilities but could be utilised better. Even to get to a cafe you would need to head to Menara KL.For the thirst after the walkAnd some snackThe walk was opened daily from 10am to 6pm. Access was either from KL Tower or from the bottom at Jalan Raja Chulan.

Sunday at Maju Junction

We planned to have a look at MARA Digital last Sunday lunchtime and were deciding on where to park. Traffic was light though but sometimes you might get trapped in long queues. We do not mind a bit of walking.

In the end, we parked at the basement of Maju Junction and as we walked up, we noticed a nice cosy eating area run by Parkson. A nice surprise indeed as the place appeared to be well maintained and the food were reasonable. Not crowded at all for a Sunday Afternoon. Easy decision.

I had some nasi ayam"Real Food, Real People"Everything was nice and cleanMaking our way across to MARA DigitalI had some nasi ayam and Anita had some noodles. Next came the walk to the next block to Medan MARA where MARA Digital was located. We would definitely park here again. Access in and out of the car park was also quite straight forward ….

Sunday Morning. With a Twist.

The last couple of days had been great weather wise. And hopefully the same goes today. After my rounds was done, I had a quick sit down at Starbucks. Was supposed to meet somebody but I think he got the time mixed up.

That afforded those rare half an hour when I could just sit quietly.

The morning had been a hectic one. It was Anita and my anniversary. And my Facebook message for her went viral ....

Laying low for the next few minutes before heading for lunch in a bit. Not sure what she got planned. Maybe a quick outing before dinner tonight.

At Mid Valley

After the grocery shopping was done, it was time to explore Mid Valley and their decorations. Anita needed to do some shopping and I was able to explore the place alone. With my Theta on tow, it was 360 degree snaps galore!

The main foyer was decorated with models of kampung houses. There was a stage there with some musician playing Raya songs later in the afternoon.

Over at Gardens, there was a school choir with their angklung - a traditional Chinese/Malay fusion musical instrument - singing away. Nice and festive.

Surprisingly, I did not get anything myself, leaving that for after Raya to tie in with my birthday. But I enjoyed the spectacle at the place that sunny Sunday afternoon as people went about their business. No coffee for me to sip as it was still Ramadhan.

Raya Groceries

There would not be Raya without the rush for grocery shopping a few days before. We did our bit at Mid Valley on the Sunday before Raya, and luckily we were early and were able to secure a parking slot right near the entrance. By the time we were done, the place was already jam packed.

The AEON at Mid Valley was undergoing renovation which made the shopping experience less than ideal. We ended up having to shop at two places - meaning two queues at the cashiers. Not fun. But being AEON, you could almost guarantee that you would be able to get everything under one roof, and that was what happened.

An hour and a half and we were out of there, just needing to ferry the stuffs over to Gombak ....
